Good hotel but a little hard to find!

Posted Aug 14, 2014
Pros: Breakfast was tasty, bathroom was very nice, beds were comfortable.
Cons: Wayfinding signs to help out-of-town guests.
Location: Gerald Ford presidential museum, Frederik Meijer botanical and sculpture gardens, Meyer May house designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, Calvin College
The Holiday Inn Express in Grand Rapids is quite near to the interstate, but not on a major road, and one street nearby was closed for construction, so it was hard to get to. However, the hotel was busy, so obviously many people had found it. The desk clerk on check-in was very helpful and our room was comfortable & clean. We enjoyed the tasty breakfast three days in a row! There was even a pancake machine.

A Great Hotel

Posted Jul 7, 2014
Pros: The decor, the friendly staff, the laundry service, and the beautiful rooms.
Cons: I am totally happy!
Location: Scenic Holland, Michigan is a short drive away....The Public Museum in Grand Rapids is one of the best museums I have visited! Definitely a must see!
My daughter recently took a small road trip through several towns in Michigan. This hotel was the best hotel of all the hotels we stayed. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfast was delicious! The hotel provided a laundry which came in handy! The decor reminded me of a cozy lodge. The rooms were extremely clean and decorated in a five star manner! I would definitely stay here again and would recommend this hotel to anyone!

Decent place to stay for a short time

Posted May 10, 2014 on Hotels.com
This hotel is surrounded by basically nothing, but the Rivertown Mall in Grandville is only 5-10 minutes away. There was a blizzard going on which is why I stayed here because I had to be in Grand Rapids the Next day. Everything was comfortable, just not the easiest to access in snow.

Easy on and off expressway

Posted Apr 26, 2014
Pros: Quiet location, good breakfast, nice pool. Clean room fresh towels each day.
Cons: Employee that answered telephone couldn't give me directions from where I was to the hotel. No sign at driveway, easy to turn in wrong one.
Location: I was close to family :-)
Very friendly professional staff. Clean rooms, very quiet. Could not hear through walls! Cheerful breakfast attendant, good selection.

Great hotel, great pool area. Very clean. Rooms were big and clean. Best of all is the free breakfast with everything on it not just donuts.

Pool time for adults vs. children

Posted Apr 12, 2014
My daughter who is 15 was told to get out of the pool at 10:30 so that these two other couples could drink their liquor in the jacuzzi. I did lie to him and said that my daughter was 18 so shame on me. But shame on him also. Maybe you guys need to open up a bar to keep the drinkers happy. I paid my bill also but it put a damper on my daughters spring break. Will I return to this hotel? Probably not

First, I would like to thank you for choosing to stay at our property over spring break with your daughter. I would like to apologize for the issues you encountered in the pool area when you stayed. Our staff member was simply following our pool procedures that we have setup that after 10:30pm it is adult swim for everyone over 18 years old. I would like to ensure you your daughter did not get kicked out so others could drink liquor in the jacuzzi. I again apologize that your left our hotel unsatisfied with your stay.

Hotel

Pool could have been cleaned. Lots of guests and so hair in pool. Breakfast was hard to get to and bread items seemed a little hard. Blanket in room clearly needed washed. However room comfortable and staff was nice

First, I would like to thank you for staying with us on your recent visit to the area and for providing us with feedback on your experience. I am sorry that you found the pool, your room, and the breakfast area to be in a condition that did not meet your approval. In the next property meeting we will be sure to go over all these issues with our department heads to ensure that this does not happen again. Thank you again for the feedback and have a wonderful day!

Nice hotel but on the costly side

My stay was nice. The automatic pancake machine kept breaking down and I could not find any meat at breakfast.
