“Quality hotel for everyone!”

My girlfriend and I recently stayed at the HoJo Grand Rapids. This hotel was very reasonably priced when you include the amenities. The hotel had a restaurant & bar which was reasonably priced and had karaoke on Saturday night and Keno (as part of MI lottery). There was also a recreation facility on the 5th floor which included an indoor pool, shuffleboard, pool table, ping pong tables, video games and workout room. The staff was very courteous, the hotel was very clean and in great shape and conveniently located about 15 minutes east of I-196 and only 8 minutes south of downtown via US-131. I highly recommend anyone (couples, families, businessmen, truckers, etc.) stay at this hotel.

Other than rode construction going on was convenient location for all I wanted and needed to do and see.

“Very Close to Downtown”

I thought that this hotel offered the best price and comfort for staying so close to downtown Grand Rapids. My friends and I have stayed at newer hotels way down 28th street near the airport, but would have to drive 20-30 minutes just to get to 131 to go to the newer mall. This Howard Johnson has a decent pool and spa (games like ping pong, pool, shuffle board), room service, bar (karaoke on Saturday nights), and quiet rooms. There is an awesome Mexican restaurant right down the street from it called The Beltline Bar as well. Good food... So, if you are looking to stay close to downtown, and don't wanna pay that much, I would stay here for the weekend!

The mattress was the best I've slept on in a hotel. That's remarkable since I'm 63 and have travelled alot.

“Good Price”

We drove in from Omaha and arrived early AM...we were allowed to check in early and the staff were very friendly. The hotel is older, but was close to many restaurants and not to far of a drive from downtown (the Gerald Ford Museum). Overall very happy with the experience...

“Trip for Graduation”

Extremely happy with my experience at this hotel. The staff went out of their way to help us, including charging my phone when it died on me and printing directions for us to get to our destination. Would recommend this hotel due to the great staff and service you receive.

“Upper Floor”

If you have a bunch of friends coming or you want to relax the 5th floor is perfect.

“You get what you pay for”

This was relatively cheap and in a convenient location for me. Staff were friendly and accommodating. I felt safe and felt my car was safe in the car park as well. Downsides for me were: -Bar open on Fri/Sat nights with lively karaoke but is smokey. -Carpet is stained and worn; smelly room. -The 24/7 diner across the road closed down during my stay. -Pool heater was not working. This could be a nicer hotel with a bit of investment however in the current economic climate this kind of expenditure is unlikely.
