Good location!

Posted Oct 20, 2014
Cons: Upgrade the bathrooms, another table in the room & a chair.
Location: We shopped at various stores that are close by. We bought Pasties in town-yum! Nice clean, friendly town.
Nice friendly and helpful staff. Good breakfast with many choices. We were woken up at 3am by our upstairs neighbors clomping around. However I would stay there again.

Short stay in Grand Rapids

Posted Sep 15, 2014
The room was not what I expected. The negatives: There's no closet, but a corner with a metal rod to put your clothes on. There's no carpet, it was wooden floor. The room I requested was a non smoking room, but upon entering the room there was heavy smell of smoke from previous users: enough smell to know that the room use to be a smokers room for years. The screen for the window was loose and screws were almost falling out. The bed was horrendous: as hard as the floor. The water pressure in the shower was strong if you wanted a steaming hot shower: but for someone who wants a regular hot shower, the water pressure dwindled down dramatically. The toilet paper had the same look and feel of brown paper towering. The positives: Breakfast was decent: waffles, biscuits and gravy, etc. The employees were incredibly nice and friendly. It's right on a main road in Grand Rapids, surrounded by many options for shopping and food. I will never stay at a Super 8 again. This room was NOT worth the $76 I paid through Expedia: the room normally runs for $99.

More than you'd expect

Pros: The price was great.
Location: This hotel is near everything ! You could go to the Judy Garland house and Musseum. Many shops and restaurants near.
We usually stay at Country Inn and Suites in Grand Rapids, but it was full for the time we were coming to town. We stayed at Super 8 so we could see our granddaughter swim in the HS meet. From check in to check out, everything was great. They had fresh cookies at the front desk and the coffee was on. The beds were good and the sleep was quiet.

Good location

Pros: Location, location, location.
Cons: Sound proof the walls and have a wider selection of breakfast items including eggs, bacon, or sausage.
Location: Located on the main north/south road in Grand Rapids which is known for hunting, fishing, and winter activities.
The facility is located in close proximity to many area attractions. The rooms were clean and the staff was well prepared. My two concerns were the noises from adjoining rooms as the walls must be thin or not sound proofed and the breakfast items were limited.

Nice to have wood floor--no carpet and extra sheet to cover the blanket.. Breakfasts were very good!

Convenient to our meeting place.

Pros: Nice breakfast that included eggs.
Cons: Pillows were too fat for my liking.
Our room was clean and the water was hot for showers. We made use of the microwave and coffee pot. We enjoyed the breakfast because it had lots of choices and everything was good tasting. Especially liked having the eggs.

Pleasant stay in Judy Garland's home town...

Posted May 23, 2014
Pros: It was cosy and comfy
Location: Judy Garland home and museum down the road
Stayed one night in this hotel and found it to be very cosy. Enjoyed the decor in the lobby, with a rocking chair and deer and moose animals sitting about! At least I think that's what they were. The hotel is on the same road as the Judy Garland childhood home so that was handy to visit and was an unexpected bonus. Right next door is a good place for an evening meal and our hotel gave us a discount voucher for it too.
