too far from barcelonaPosted Nov 5, 2013
Pros: polite staff, good clean rooms, good service.
Cons: expedia - if i am very unlikely to book package deals from expedia next time. it costs more and you get unexpected results.
Location: too far from barcelona. if you are going in peak season you may have no choice but metro closes at 12 and you're better off living in the city.
it's a decent hotel if you care about the hotel. however, no one goes to barcelona to live in a hotel and if i had known any better, i'd have booked a hotel in the middle of the city - and at this time, i could have done it for less money and seen a lot more of the city and the nightlife. i feel very disappointed with expedia but nothing against the hotel.

Granoller is not BarcelonaPosted Sep 12, 2013 on Hotels.com
I'm responsible for my own choice but when I called the hotel after I booked, someone told me it's only a 30 minute train ride which is more, and also they said if I had a car it's only 10 minutes to Barcelona well I didn't find out cause I never rented a car. The Hotel is excellent but it's location relative to Barcelona for a single guy looking for night life is HORRIBLE! My evenings for 4 nights were truly wasted, but now that I know I'll be making a better choice. Also my credit card company ruined my first booking which was Hotel Brucgotic right in Barcelona. Don't forget the last train to Granoller from Barcelona leaves at midnight !!!!!!!

Good hotel for race circuitPosted Sep 8, 2013
Used to stay while in Barcelona for 24h race, very good rooms that can sleep up to six, very clean and at a good price. Close to town center and only a 10min drive to the race circuit. will use it again.

Very comfortable hotelPosted Sep 5, 2013
Cons: More english speaking staff
I stayed for 4 nights and i enjoyed myself at the hotel. The hotel is about 30-40 mins from central Barcelona but there is a train station which is about 5 mins away from the hotel and you can get direct trains to Barcelona(twice in the hour). A return journey to Barcelona city centre cost 6.30euros

Nice hotel, easy to locate from the train station.Posted Aug 28, 2013
Pros: Easy to find,very clean
Location: Location was fine for us because we don't mind using public transport but maybe a bit far for some
Great hotel half an hour from central Barcelona by train and an hour to the airport. We had booked one family room but on arrival ended up with two connecting rooms both with their own kitchens and bathrooms which was a nice surprise! This was our first visit to Barcelona and will be definitely be going back and would definitely use this hotel again.

Too far from central barcelonaPosted Aug 21, 2013
Too far out from central varcelona where all the main sight seeing is so unless you use the metro whch can be a long journey with numerous stops or by taxi which costs an absolute fortune. The hotel is more suited to visits around the granollers area or if you are travelling by car. We ended up realising this nd thn booking another hotel in the monjuic area and thankfully saved on taxi fares!! Cannot comment on hotel facilities because we changed 2 days before travelling to barceloa

Great comfortable hotel for the familyPosted Aug 14, 2013
Pros: Clean and comfortable with nice staff
Cons: no electric kettle and sparse kitchen utensils
Location: Around 30 minutes train ride to reach centre of Barcelona
Situated around 30 minutes RENFE train ride from the centre of Barcelona and 1 hour from the the airport. We purchased a 10 journey RENFE pass at around 20.4 euros which worked out around 2 euros per person per train journey. Granollers is a pleasant suburban town and the Atenea Apartment Hotel is only a 10 minute walk from Granollers train station. The hotel is comfortable and the staff are friendly and helpful. We had a problem understanding how our electric hob worked but this was fine once the staff explained the controls. The room was air conditioned with a tv and basic kitchen with microwave and fridge freezer. Some additional kitchen utensils and an electric kettle and toaster would have been nice. We had a family room comprising a twin bed and a bunk bed for our children. A double bed would have been better than the twin for us. We liked the 0.5 euro coffee/expresso each morning in the foyer sometimes with free croissants/cake. We did not try the spa but it looked good. Overall a good base for our Barcelona holiday but a more central hotel may be preferable next time we visit.

Barcelona Bargain!Posted Jul 31, 2013
Cons: Distance from Barcelona
Location: Great access to the trains, and Granollers has a very nice town centre.
It seemed so cheap there must be a catch, but in he end I was very pleased I picked this hotel for my recent 7 night holiday with my partner and her 15 year old son. We travelled into Barcelona each day on the train which is a short walk from the hotel, we got a family ticket for 3 zones for £109 euros which covered all our transport for the week on trains/metro and to the airport. It is a 40 min journey (plus another 10 mins on the metro to the main shopping areas like La Rambla or to the beach) but the trains are air conditioned and we always got a seat so it really wasn't a big problem. The immediate area around the hotel is a little run down, but the are plenty of super markets and café bars and very quick access to trains. Walk a little further into Granollers and we were pleased to find it has a very nice old town centre with good restaurants and shops (much nicer than I expected). Barcelona itself is fabulous, weather you want shops, entertainment, sight seeing or just the beach, it has it all and easily accessible on the metro. We will be back.

Great hotel for every type of customerPosted Jun 23, 2013
Pros: Size of the rooms
Cons: Limited parking outside the hotel for dropping off or loading bags
Location: Perfect if you don't want to stay in the centre of Barcelona
Great hotel. It was a bonus to have a fridge and hob in the room. Breakfast was 1st class and will appeal to all European tastes. Easy train links from the railway station (Granollers Centro) to Barcelona - Gracia station only €6.30 return and only 30 mins journey time. The same train goes to the airport. If you arrive by car leave it in the hotel underground car park only €3 a day - it is a bit tight if you have a big car. It is very residential around the hotel so don't expect great views. They provide an evening meal in their restaurant - good food but a limited choice if you are staying more than a few days. There are many small restaurants in the town centre a short walk away though remember some restaurants open late to cater for their Spanish customers
