“Not Bad, Not Great”
The inn had an old charm to it, and the staff was very kind the few times I met them. The room was not filthy, but without looking very hard you could see that the surfaces, floor in the restroom, and walls had not been scrubbed very well. The bathroom floor was also sloped, and the floor creaked a bit when you walked on it. It felt like it needed some key structural maintenance done, but it also did not feel dangerous by any means. The mattress was pretty uncomfortable, and I'm used to sleeping on a firm bed. The appliances are old, if that matters to you, but I didn't use them. Most of the rooms have no smoking signs in place on the door, but there are ashtrays outside of nearly every room, and people were smoking along the main walkway almost constantly. The heater/air conditioner in my room worked well, and the linens seemed clean. The continental breakfast was better than I've seen at some hotels, mostly because they had english muffins and decent coffee.
Ultimately, you get what you pay for. All of the hotels in the area in this price range are about the same in quality, so keep that in mind also. It's definitely not the worst place you could stay, but I also didn't look forward to going back to sleep there. With a few structural renovations, a bed upgrade, and a little deeper cleaning, the place would be very comfortable.
