Do not miss this hotel when in the upper Engadin
The Kronenhof was the kind of impressionable experience that will "force" me to stay in Pontresina everytime I visit the Upper Engadin. The hotel, staff, food, you name it, is top notch. Breakfast was amazing and both restaurant provided high end dining to be remembered. I did not visit the Spa, but from the outside it looks to be very well done. The view down the Roseg valley is wonderful and staying just a few miles away from the crowds at St. Moritz is also a bonus.

We visited for a cross country ski event and couldn’t be happier with our choice of hotel. The staff was very accommodating, anticipating all of our needs including special services for the skiers attending the event including shuttles and early breakfasts. Our room was updated and comfortable but was a bit too warm from the radiant heat so we had to open a window. We enjoyed the splendid spa-especially the floating pool. We would highly recommend this property.

It is the most complete hotel, has beautiful areas, great pool and sauna, kids club, ice skating rink. The concierge service is the best I have experienced.

Very good property, with excellent rooms, facilities, food/drinks and service. We appreciated being picked up from Pontresina train station at our arrival and we were positively impressed by the quality of the room and the restaurants. The gourmet restaurant features a Rouen duck which is worth trying…the bar is also top notch, with an excellent choice of cocktails and a British tea-time package, all accompanied with piano music. Also the SPA struck us as clean, comfortable and with a great view on the mountains. This is the best option while staying In Pontresina. We definitely recommend.

When I was booking this hotel I didn’t look into too much just know it’s the best at the Pontresina where we will hike. after check in ,it’s not only surprised us but amazed. this hotel should be benchmark for all FIVE star hotels. when we book the halfboard we didn’t expect fine dinning , the staff are extremely professional, the restaurant is as beautiful as wedding setup. the room is not only comfortable but beyond , there is even walk-in wardrobe! How good is that during traveling. We definitely enjoyed spa ,big windows with natural view . Special thank to concierge department Angel Blanco ( hope I am spelling it right ) for his warm welcome at the train station and guidance for hiking tip. Also the spa / swimming pool staff ( girl with short hair ) . Overall, this is not only accommodation during long trip but our unforgettable experience as well. It’s a place you definitely desire to come back.

The Kronenhof is a magical place. It’s truly a magnificent Belle Epoque Hotel in the Mountains. Restored to perfection and beautifully decorated. We really enjoyed our time in Pontresina and the Kronenhof. From the elegant dining to the beautiful Spa. We will definitely come back to this place. Surprise Management / Special Occasions: We were celebrating our 30th Birthday in the hotel. Our father arranged the day before with the reception a Spa Treatment. It should have been a surprise. However, we were not informed by the staff about that gift. Our dad called us on our Birthday and asked us: « How we like the treatments that he chose for us? » Since we didn’t know anything about it, we were a bit confused and my dad became upset. Since he highlighted the importance to the Kronenhof Staff. I went during breakfast to the reception and tried to understand the situation. I received the answer: « You should contact the Spa ». Since I was in the middle of eating it was not an option. After a while the reception started to understand the situation and made the outmost to rearrange the appointments. Improvement Advice to Kronenhof: Since you have a lot of guets that celebrate anniversaries or birthdays in your hotel. I would personally suggest you to put more focus on that and when something goes wrong at least offer a glass of champagne or tea time. I honestly felt a bit stressed that morning. Rearranging my plans last minute.

Exceptional couples stay
Very pleasant stay with all the luxury you can think of. Great was also that you get a free pass for all the cable cars in the region. The SPA area is nice and welcoming. We recommend the SPA treatment since we had great massages with Fatima.

An impressive hotel in a wonderul area. Great garden and modern, lage wellness area. The staff was very friendly. Unfortunately, we got a room that is in need of renovation. Apparently, there are renovated rooms - make sure you get one of these at reservation.

Do not visit this property if you are not white/ Caucasian. The bar staff and the restaurant staff are not used to attending guests (of color) who can afford 700 dollar night stay in this property. We felt awful when most of the wait staff picked up ‘not so friendly’ tone when greeting us. The tone continued during the order taking process also. This experience bothered us a lot especially since this was supposed to be a getaway from our day to day work drama/ tension but instead we are carrying back this burden of having faced racism in Switzerland for the first time now. We are both well educated professional individuals and we treated all staff with respect like we always do. We were not expecting this at all. Just terrible!!! Thank god for google. Apparently Oprah had mentioned something about the Swiss racism she faced when she wanted to purchase a bag at an expensive store and the staff refused to show it to her not realizing it was Oprah they were being racist to. Go figure!! Wake up people!! Please look into other hotels and make sure you check the reviews if you are someone of color planning a stay in this property.

3 wonderful nights of my life.
Amazing! It was just amazing. From the time we entered the hotel till we left pontresina. The hotel is nothing short of a palace. As we entered the hotel main gates the staff saw us with our bags and came running to get our bags and they were genuinely sad to the fact that we did not use the hotel pickup from the station. At checkin we were greeted by Anela at the reception. Very kind she checked us in and showed us to the room with a complete tour of the hotel and explanation of everything including things in our room. Special thanks to Anela for giving us the time and preparing the itinerary for us for the next 2 days. We had opted for half board, and the 4 course meal at the dining room was exquisite. It was nothing short of an aristocratic dinner experience. a definite must try. The hotel also provides with the egadine card which entitles you to go up any mountain trains, ski lifts or cable cars with I think is a extremely nice gesture. The next day we were assisted by Angel another interesting and funny person he dropped us off at the murtos murgal station. The rooms are royal. It is like staying in a palace. This hotel is by far one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in my travelling life of 30 years. I would do the whole pontresina thing again in a heartbeat. Even if i wanted to I couldn't find a point to criticize about this hotel and my stay in pontresina.

Fantastic hotel and great level of the food at half board. Many things to do in case the weather is bad (bowling and ice skating on site!). Pool area is splendid and an attraction in and of itself. Great staff at the kids club: very dynamic and attentive. Slopes are 15 mns away by hotel shuttle. Staff was particularly friendly and helpful. Will go again.

HARD TO BEAT

Most rooms were dated and very small. For 600$ a night inaceptable. Bar service was kind but understaffed (slow) reception was totally overstaffed.

Great place to stay in a great place to stay
We were in Pontresina for two days and two nights. The staff could not have been nice at time of check-in and throughout our stay. They picked us up at the train station when we arrived in Pontresina and took us to the train station in St. Moritz to catch the Glacier Express when we left - all at no additional charge. They helped with recommendations for restaurants and the restaurant at the hotel was fine dining at its best. The included breakfast was a smorgasbord of wonderful food - everything from scrambled eggs and bacon to cheeses and fruits to you name it. Bottom line, it could not have been a better experience.

Great Hotel for a luxury break
Nothing is too much trouble for the staff at this hotel. Service and cleanliness is excellent. I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to others. Probably the best 5* hotel I have ever used..

A nice grand hotel - great spa
This is an excellent grand hotel in Pontresina, with modern renovations, a great breakfast, and a top-notch spa. In the off season, there is plenty of unparalleled hiking and climbing nearby. Very kid friendly. My only quibbles are that the food might be *too* gourmet (although there are nice alternatives in Pontresina for dinner), and for sleeping you have to get used to a nearby church bell.

Zimmerservice nicht auf 5 Sterne Niveau.
Im Badezimmer einige "fremde" Haare, Versprechungen vom Hotel (alle drei Tage frische Früchte auf dem Zimmer), wurde nicht eingehalten, frische Trinkwasser Flasche wurde zweimal "vergessen". Zimmerservice damit nicht auf 5 Sterne Niveau. Frühstücksbuffet wird nur sehr lagsam "nachgefüllt", damit zum Teil sehr lange Wartezeiten bis das Gewünschte wieder verfügbar.

Great hotel, really comfortable, amazing walking opportunities. We booked half board, food was good, but a bit "dated" very classical and heavy desserts. For a hotel in an outdoor environment the portion size were not very big (I need a bit more then michelin star portion sizes after a whole day out). Staff level could be a bit higher for full 5 star, some of the staff was bit unexperienced/uncertain. But these were minor points, will definately come back and was amazing stay
