“Wonderful old-country Swiss atmosphere without the glitz.”

Unusual old-style hotel, but in a good way! Renovated, but enough of the older parts (heavy carved wooden doorways, crooked floors and traditional beds) were still visible so you could see the (cool) old building. Quiet, clean, and welcoming, but not overly modernized. Just right. Fresh quilts, views of mountains, right in the village, helpful staff. And of course Swiss-clean. At breakfast, everything was set out for us - and often we were the only ones there. Personally, we loved the privacy and the feeling we had found something unusual and special.

“hard to find, funky little pension”

This is a reasonably priced, very old, funky pension that is being completely refurbished. It was hard to find and once we were in the neighborhood we still couldn't locate it..no sign and hidden behind a restaurant. Lots of steps and no lift. But the room was clean, new furnishings, recently painted. & great beds .Looks like they are redoing everything and using good quality materials and furnishings..Has a minimalist feel and it will be great when they're finished. Had some problems with the shower; took a while to get hot water.( I really think it was a brand new). Everything new in bathroom. Staff was pleasant but didn't speak English and we didn't speak German or Italian. Had internet access but staff couldn't communicate the code to use it. Couldn't leave the windows open because it was near a church with bells ringing every half hour which made it hard to sleep.. Ate at the hotel and we were the only ones in the restaurant. Breakfast was minimal.
