VERY PLEASANT SURPRISE

Posted Feb 10, 2014
Pros: Everything ... had absolutely no complaints.
Cons: No waffle machine at breakfast which would be a nice addition.
Location: It was the only motel in Gray, LA near Cypress Columns, a venue where we were attending a function. PERFECT location only one mile away!
We were not sure what kind of accommodations we would get in a small place like Gray, Louisiana, especially considering the good rate we were getting, but we were thrilled with the stay. Everyone we encountered on the staff was professional, pleasant and friendly as could be. We got downstairs for breakfast right at 9 a.m. and they told us to take our time and they'd break everything down when we were finished. The facility was in the process of being remodeled and everything was freshly painted and clean and the lobby had beautiful Mardi Gras decorations. Our room was very large and well appointed with 2 queen beds, nice furniture, large TV, larger than normal refrigerator, a 2-piece desk that you could move the half on wheels over to the love seat with ottomans to become a dining area.

Husband leaves from port- often stuck late

Posted Aug 24, 2013
Pros: Pillows were feather and soft...access to juice and milk at any time for kids for free which was very nice.
Cons: Make entire hotel non smoking, repairs to bathroom in rm 121
Location: Great stores like Marshall's and Ross- better than mg hometown more like a department store access to more brands maybe because the pop is lower
Husband leaves for offshore in a dive boat often times at 12 am we live 2 hours away and no where to stay in btw - we have two small children under 5- would have been nice if they offered crib even for a charge- smelled like smoke- a little dingy compared to our stay last year- howeve this time was on the first floor - previous time was on the second- ask for any floor other than first- bathroom grout mildew which freaks me out- bathroom floor looked as if it had not been mopped close to toilet which also freaked me out- however my baby girl is crawling so I was critical. Looked to be mainly working men staying here during the week- out stay was a Thursday night - wish it were a bit cheaper for quality- spent $102 dollars- expected a bit more- did have fridge and microwave which was nice and direct tv with movie channels - also remote was wrapped to show it had been cleaned- tv impressed me. Also could have offered non powder cream at breakfast bar in am- that made me very sad

Trip to Houma

Posted Jul 21, 2011
The room we stayed in was a standard double bed. The beds squeaked something fierce. The drapes over the air conditioner had mold growing on them, not the best with two kids. I will admit that it rained the whole time we were in the Houma area. The pool needs a serious cleaning, nothing like coming up for air and sucking in a bug.
