Pros: Shallow pool was great for young kids, not so much for adults. The atrium was a nice gathering point, and added ambiance to this otherwise dull hotel.
Cons: The beds were hard, the pillows were lumpy and only 2 per bed with no extras to be found in the room. Hot water was warm at best, without cold water.
Location: A plethora of northern Michigan activities depending on the season.
I liked the shallow pool for my 2 and 6 year old sons, it was very easy for them to touch bottom (at least 50% for the 2 year old), however for an adult it was too shallow to swim a lap. The atrium was a nice left over from the old Holiday Inn that this used to be. The free Wi-Fi had good reception in my room. The staff also seemed friendly and helpful. Those are the high points of my stay. The bed was the worst I have slept in in a very long time, hard and with awful lumpy pillows, and not enough of them. There where 4 of us, and 4 pillows. All in all I have never looked more forward to getting out of bed, and that is not a compliment. TV's were outdated tubes if that matters to you. Water was not very hot, and I took my shower with only the hot water turned on and it was still only warm. Shower head was decent and pressure was good. Water was a little hard and soap that usually suds well at home barely made any suds. There was no bathroom vent. Ice machine on our floor was out of order. No elevator for 2nd floor so you are carrying all of your bags up the stairs. Thermostat sensitivity on the heater was poor and the temperature varied widely. Our room phone was broken internally and rattled when you lifted it up to your ear. The room lighting could have used slightly brighter bulbs IMO. Free breakfast was minimalist, muffins, cereal, etc. as they tried to upsell eggs, bacon, etc. for additional cost. The kids loved playing with the in room safe.

Convenient, decent hotel.Posted Jan 29, 2014
Pros: Overall it was clean.
Location: Conveniently right in Gaylord.
Overall the experiences was fine. The staff was pleasant and overall the room was clean. The windows were dirty. Parking was horrible due to lack of plowing. It was never plowed the time I was there and the parking lot was a mess. Did not use the pool but everything looked to be clean. The continental breakfast was standard with the option to buy a hot meal.

Book with expedia do not pay $89 a night.Posted Jan 10, 2014
If I were to have paid the $89 a night that was asked I would have been upset. The hotel was old feeling and did not seem clean. There was water damage around the door in my room. Everything is dated. The coffees gone was not plugged in and a good spot for it was not able to find. Also the breakfast in the morning was a joke.

No WiFiPosted Sep 28, 2013 on Hotels.com
I have stayed there before and for the money it's fine. What I didn't like was that I chose an outside room and asked the clerk when checking in if there was a password for the wifi. There was no wifi and upon checking out was told that only the inside rooms have wifi. I figured that since I asked when checking in about wifi I should have been advised as such.
