HOTEL- PERSONAL

Posted Oct 26, 2011

Volveríamos a ir

Posted Apr 27, 2011

Not bad accommodation but you can probably do better in Grazalema

Posted Jun 13, 2010
My girlfriend and I had a very nice couple of days in Grazalema, staying at the Hotel Puerta de la Villa. The view from our room was fantastic, and the service adequate. As far as I could tell we were the only guests in the hotel. Main gripe though was over breakfast -- we paid for full buffet in advance, but were told it was not available on both mornings of our stay for different reasons after explicitly asking about it each time. The 'continental' breakfast we were offered instead consisted of 2 pieces of stale toast, a cup of tea and some rather concentrated orange juice. Upon departure, they tried to charge us for this 'breakfast'. When we informed them that we had already paid for the bigger (and more expensive!) option, they said they would have given us a whole host of other things if only we had told them this at the time. Hmmm! Also we were told the facilities (jacuzzi, plunge pool) were out of action for works of some sort or other. Overall though it was not a bad experience, just I don't think it was worth staying at the most expensive place in town when you'd probably get better service at lower price elsewhere. Perhaps this should have been obvious to us, as we chose this hotel due to other top choices being fully booked!
