Per chi si deve recare presso Great Neck l'albergo è a 5 min a piedi dalla stazione (mezz'ora di treno da Manatthan). L'albergo è molto bello e anche il servizio è impeccabile. Il prezzo è un pò alto ma all'altezza degli altri alberghi del posto.

Nice rooms, good location, front desk staff and food lets the place down

The Inn at Great Neck is listed as one of the ""Small Luxury Hotels of the World™" - and is branded as "an unsurpassed collection of over 500 luxury hotels." When a hotel gets this branding, there are certain expectations - like front desk staff who are cheerful, pleasant, and eager to please. This is the second time I've stayed here - and it will be the last - because the front desk staff are the most unhelpful staff I have ever come across and the restaurant is terrible. For example, I needed change in order to tip the valet - and was told by the front desk that they had no change and I should check with the restaurant. (The restaurant did not have change either). Excuse me? You can't change a 20 dollar bill into five dollar bills so I could tip the valet? My second disappointment was the food in the restaurant. I had lunch - a panini with fries - and calling it mediocre would be kind. For example, the fries were definitely frozen from a bag (the tell-tale zig-zag cut) and the panini was average. This is suppose to be an "outstanding" restaurant - instead, the food is extremely disappointing. Finally, the gym is terrible - two very old pieces of equipment in a very small room - they should not advertise that the hotel has a gym. On the positive side, the restaurant, bar, and valet staff were excellent. The room is comfortable with evening turn-down service and the ipod stereo system a nice touch. However, these should be a given at a "small luxury hotel".

This is a beautiful, quiet hotel with a great restaurant. Close to the train, right into Manhattan. Nice "village" feel to the surrounding area. I wl stay here often
