“Very pleasant hotel on the Great Ocean Road”

We arrived slightly early and rather than making us wait for our room to be ready they upgraded us to a better room that was ready. Very pleasant staff, comfortable hotel right on the beach. Great restaurant. Overall a great place to stay We were driving back to Melbourne down the great ocean road and only stayed one night - wish we had made it two...

“Best resort in Lorne”

The place is very easy to find. Close to everything. Althought a lot of people were there when I checked in, i found the check in speed is very quick. The whole resort is very clean and beautiful. Walking distance to beach , restaurant and shops. All my family members love it.

“Great for families”

After reading alot of bad comments on this property, we were very worried about our choice of accommodation in Lorne. As soon as we arrived and entered the property we were pleasantly surprised. The grounds where very well looked after and our appartment was clean and comfortable. The only negative thing we would have to say was that the property, even though is beachfront, not many appartments enjoy beach views.. Con and Soula, Darwin NT

“Great location but very poor housekeeping”

The only complaint I have about this hotel is, that despite the website claiming the heritage rooms are serviced daily, this was not the case. The room was not cleaned at all whilst we stayed there for the four days over Easter. Only the beds were made and that was only once. It is disappointing to return to a room with unmade beds and in need of a clean. Tea/coffee and other supplies were not replenished during our stay, only the UHT milk was replaced. I am well travelled and have never stayed at a hotel where the room has not been cleaned daily. Very disappointing!

“Family Holiday”

Was a lovely hotel, staff service was second to none. Sadly room was not overall clean upon arrival and couches in 1 bedroom apartment were very uncomfortable but other than that lovely hotel, great location. Restaurant overpriced but nice food.

“Nice Location, tired hotel”

Car parking was very inconvenient, as it was so far away from our room. The actual building, the Princess Louise, was run down and grubby . The stairs were filthy. The rooms were ok. Our room was spacious, mainly because there was furniture missing! However our travelling companions had to ask for a different room, not only did it overlook an ugly tin roof, but there was cigarette ash just outside the balcony door (and it was a non-smoking room!) The shower over the bath was a nightmare as it was so high ( A real trip hazzard)

Don,t stay here! we booked a 2 bed apartment and what they provide is a 1 bed apartment with lounge and kitchen with an adjoined 1 bed apartment. you enter through 1 door but then there,s 2 separate doors to each apartment, would not be ideal with small children. the first apartment they gave us had that much mould on shower tiles i wondered if it had ever been cleaned! we complained and were given another apartment, thou the staff were not that concerned that we had complained. the next apartment faired little better. the bathroom was cleaner thou the amount of hair in the plug holes was beyond belief. the cups in the kitchen were stained and 1 looked as thou it had been used and put straight back in cupboard. there was dust and dirt in the corners of the rooms particually behind TV. the furniture was dated and stained, no effort had clearly been made to try and clean that either. we even found a toe nail clipping on the lounge carpet! the only clean part of the apartment appeared to be the bedding. when we left in the morning, taking some of the dirt findings to reception, the only answer they could give was that they used outside cleaning company! Obviously no staff from the hotel checks on what they do or don,t care as it was plain to see the filth. I am also amazed how this hotel/resort attained its rating as i would not even rate it 2 star. if the owners go 2 hours down the coast to The Sebal Deep Blue hotel, they could see what a real 4+ star hotel should be like!!!
