A visitors view of the Albion.

Cons: See above
The Albion is a classic mid-price hotel - a brownstone converted to serve travelers. The room I had was spacious, clean, well heated but not over-heated. The shower was excellent and hot water was available most of time but not not all the time. Several guests complained. I am used to the shortage of hot water in many parts of Europe - goes with the territory and the price. Also on the downside, the stairs can be formidable if you are on an upper floor. The Albion staff was helpful. I appreciated that. The Albion is located within easy walking distance of (1) The Subway, (2) Mid-price restaurants and pubs, (3) The Kelvin Museum Complex (4) Good bus service (5) a loud cheer for A Laundromat! Breakfast was tasty but not unusual, served in a bright room. Finally, the Albion is on a cul-de-sac. You get little street noise. I plan to stay at the Albion again.

Pleasant stay

Not a modern hotel, but is very well located for the West End and City Centre, only a two minute walk from the underground and the hotel offers reduced cost parking. My room was well appointed and very clean. Service was great from the very friendly staff. I would use again.

Exceptional price for the room

I enjoyed my stay at the Albion, but would caution anyone with disabilities to request a room on the main floor -- as you will have to walk up 2 flights of steps otherwise. Other than that, the staff was friendly.

Spotlessly clean but showing signs of wear.

Posted Sep 17, 2014
Pros: Staff were friendly and helpful
Cons: Time for a little TLC.
Location: A few restaurants and pubs nothing is you wan t something special. Only a 19 min walk down Kelvin Way park to the Kelvingrove Hall Museum.
Very small, dark room on ground floor behind reception desk. Area around hotel not very salubrious, also a 40min walk to centre of town when public transport does not run before 10 or after 6 on Sundays. Also issues with lack of hot water.

We had a relaxed stay at this hotel - nice welcome, lovely room and good breakfast. The staff were helpful and location very central near botanic gardens and in middle if west end area with lots of shops, cafes and restaurants. It was good value and I would recommend this hotel to others.

seems like very good value

I have only stayed a couple places in Glasgow so I don't have a lot to compare it to, but I thought this hotel was a great find. Staff is very friendly and helpful, breakfast is decent, rooms are quite pleasant with ensuite. It was everything I needed so I was happy. Obviously, this is sort of a BnB style, so if you want a big hotel with a posh bar then you'll have to get that somewhere else. But this place is cute and well maintained, and great walking distance to Kelvingrove park and museums, and Byers road shops and restaurants. Long walk to downtown/Buchanan but doable. Very reasonably priced for all you get. I'd probably stay here again if I wanted to be in the Kelvingrove neighborhood.
