great whistlestop visit

Posted Jul 8, 2014
Pros: location is fantastic for the theater etc, only a short walk from the city centre, rooms decorated to a very high standard and immaculate.
Arrived at the hotel to check in at around 3pm, this was dealt with very quickly and I was given my room key and directions, found it easily, sorted my clothing and was back out to meet friends in a matter of minutes, my impression of the hotel at this poing was very good

The nearby neighborhood wasn't the best and the tv didn't have a lot of channels but the rooms were nice and the staff friendly.

Convenient location

Pros: The convenient location.
Location: See above.
This hotel is conveniently located in the Charing Cross district of Glasgow - close to the city centre and near to the west end (Kelvingrove Park, Museum and Art Gallery, Glasgow University).

Short Break to visit Art Galleries etc

Posted May 15, 2014
Pros: We found the staff very friendly and helpful. We all enjoyed the breakfast, there was something for every taste.
Cons: Like other guests it was disappointing to look out onto a brick wall. Furnish with lighter furniture?
Location: Hotel very central. Good restaurants nearby, a must do is the Griffin bar. Shopping great, art galleries, theatre.
Arrived at the hotel late afternoon; made very welcome by the young man on reception. Recommended places of interest nearby to visit.

Good hotel near city centre.

Posted Apr 29, 2014
Pros: Easy 15 minute walk from Queen Street station. Very nice room, clean and spacious.
Cons: Double glazing
Location: Near City Centre. I only stayed one night as I caught the train to Mallaig the next morning.
Would have rated this hotel as excellent but although the hotel was quiet there was a lot of traffic noise from the road outside and the nearby dual carriageway. If you take earplugs you will be fine. Room was excellent for a single and had everything I could ask for. Very good value and friendly staff. Sash windows but would benefit from double glazing

Got my money's worth

Posted Apr 16, 2014
Pros: I liked the location, how clean it was, and it had decent food.
Cons: The night staff.
Location: The location is really close to major streets and shopping and is the one good point of this hotel.
The hotel was cheap so I didn't expect much. The location was great and the room was very clean. The room was extremly small, which I am not picky about but you had to squeeze between the bed and the desk. The room only has a radiator which didn't keep the room very warm especialy if you are not use to the cold. My major problem with this hotel was that breakfast was suppose to be included in my booking and when I went to pay my bill the said it wasn't. Ok, that wasn't a big deal but when I went to pay the bill at 4 a.m. bc I have a taxi to catch for the airport, the night clerk says he isn't authorized to use the credit card machine. I have no cash and a taxi waiting for me. It was so bogus. I had to literaly run down the street to find an ATM and get cash.

An adequate Hotel

Posted Apr 7, 2014
Pros: A small cosy hotel, in a quiet road, & having a very comfortable lounge with a free computer.
Cons: The bath glass closure was situated in a very dangerous position so that it could not be opened to access the taps. The two handles on bath were not
Location: Very good restaurants close to hand. All places of interest within easy reach mainly by an excellent taxi service.
Greeted immediately upon arrival, cases taken up to our rooms as there was no lift. Staff were always ready & willing to assist regarding any thing.
