Disappointing hotel

Posted Sep 7, 2014
Our room was described as an upgrade but had no view and was very dark. The decor was poor and the bathroom was small. The hotel unfortunately wasn't helped by the fact it was converted properties that had corridors and staircases all over the shop. The TV remote had a missing battery and the room was very warm even with though the temp was mild for Sept. Won't be going back.

Great base for exploring Glasgow!

Posted Jul 29, 2014
Pros: Location. Friendly staff. Great breakfast.
Cons: Room was just off reception so a little noisy on occasion
Well positioned in Charing Cross just off Sauchiehall Street. 10 minutes' brisk walk to Buchanan Street, 15 in the other direction to the Squinty Bridge and just round the corner from Charing Cross Station. Was a brilliant base for the Commonwealth Games.

great whistlestop visit

Posted Jul 8, 2014
Pros: location is fantastic for the theater etc, only a short walk from the city centre, rooms decorated to a very high standard and immaculate.
Arrived at the hotel to check in at around 3pm, this was dealt with very quickly and I was given my room key and directions, found it easily, sorted my clothing and was back out to meet friends in a matter of minutes, my impression of the hotel at this poing was very good

The nearby neighborhood wasn't the best and the tv didn't have a lot of channels but the rooms were nice and the staff friendly.

Convenient location

Pros: The convenient location.
Location: See above.
This hotel is conveniently located in the Charing Cross district of Glasgow - close to the city centre and near to the west end (Kelvingrove Park, Museum and Art Gallery, Glasgow University).

Short Break to visit Art Galleries etc

Posted May 15, 2014
Pros: We found the staff very friendly and helpful. We all enjoyed the breakfast, there was something for every taste.
Cons: Like other guests it was disappointing to look out onto a brick wall. Furnish with lighter furniture?
Location: Hotel very central. Good restaurants nearby, a must do is the Griffin bar. Shopping great, art galleries, theatre.
Arrived at the hotel late afternoon; made very welcome by the young man on reception. Recommended places of interest nearby to visit.

Good hotel near city centre.

Posted Apr 29, 2014
Pros: Easy 15 minute walk from Queen Street station. Very nice room, clean and spacious.
Cons: Double glazing
Location: Near City Centre. I only stayed one night as I caught the train to Mallaig the next morning.
Would have rated this hotel as excellent but although the hotel was quiet there was a lot of traffic noise from the road outside and the nearby dual carriageway. If you take earplugs you will be fine. Room was excellent for a single and had everything I could ask for. Very good value and friendly staff. Sash windows but would benefit from double glazing

Great hotel let down by dark room

Nice stay, would have been greatly improved if I had been allocated a room with natural light. Instead, I felt like I was staying in a prison cell. Good breakfast service and selection - hot and cold buffet, with eggs cooked to order.
