Lovely hotel. Staff very welcoming and helpfulPosted Apr 13, 2014
Pros: Great friendly staff. Situated in a good area for SECC and SSE Hydro. Food very good.
Location: Location was excellent. Very close to SSE Hydro and SECC, only a short journey by taxi to the main shopping centre. Taxi's already Outside and waiting
I stayed at the crowne plaza which is so close to the SECC and SSE Hydro. It made the night great as we didn't have to walk far (just round the corner). There were taxis already outside if you wanted to go anywhere, which was great, no need to hang about. Breakfast was very good as you could choose whatever you wanted. Overall an excellent hotel and situated very close to all amenities.

DisappointingPosted Apr 13, 2014
Pros: Reception and bar area
Cons: To have all bedrooms refurbished
Location: Very close to secc and scottish hydro and science museum
We stayed here on 9th April for an overnight stay for our20th wedding anniversary. Check in was very quick. Arrived at our room to find our key cards didn't work so the porter let us in. Room very very tired with paper coming off in bathroom, black mildew on tiles and bin rusty. We also found someone else underwear in a drawer. We telephoned reception who informed us we had been upgraded to use club lounge. With our room being on1st floor and club lounge on 15th floor we did not use this as I cannot use lifts due to being claustropbic. Would have been nicer to have our room upgraded on 15th floor as well and then we could have used the club lounge. All in all not a good experience. I think once the rooms have been refurbished this hotel will be 4 star.

Perfect walking distance away from the SECC.Posted Apr 8, 2014
A lovely warm welcome, cosy room and only two minutes walk away from the SSE Hydro. Perfect! Great breakfast too. Would highly recommend this hotel.

Pros: the room was nice
Room was clean and comfortable. The pool was also nice but the changing area was dated and looked more like a public swimming area, rather than a 4 star hotel. The service during dinner and breakfast was very slow. We waited 30 minutes on a cold starter! Service at the bar was also very slow.

Great location for The HydroPosted Mar 24, 2014
Refurbishment works being done but it didn't hamper our stay. Room was smart and clean. Buffet breakfast was great.

A romantic evening in Glasgow!Posted Feb 19, 2014
Pros: The Room.
Cons: Spa area/Robes/comfortable seating and water/tea/coffee facilities. A curteousy bus!.
Location: Ideal for SECC. Expensive taxis took away from deal but great restaurants and theatre.
A beautiful room, shame the view was of a car park and bins at the rear of the hotel. Went for a Spa....would have liked to have been able to lounge in the Spa area, there were benches but no comfortable seats or lounges, some people had robes but these seem to be 'day spa visitors' we were given a bath towel each. No drinking water or coffee/tea facilities. Would have liked to have been able to go direct to our room without having undressed into swimsuit having to re-dress to go back to room, a robe would have sorted this. The lifts are too small and when they did eventually stop at our floor they were too full on checking out. We attempted to go down the stair well only to find the doors locked on the G floor, so we walked back up one flight to find our selves on an upper floor and having to walk along the floor and down a winding stair case to get to reception. We then had to pay £6 to get our car out of the car park. We had booked a taxi to go into town for a show and dinner and a taxi back, another expense to add to the 'deal' we got on expedia, surprised a curteousy bus not offered as we are a bit of of the west end. Thoroughly enjoyed our weekend and our meal in Ashton Lane. Would probably stay if we were going to a concert in the SECC but next time we are going further into town or the west end will look for something nice a bit closer.

Average room for a CP, bed uncomfortable, renovations made dining inconvenient but appreciate that can't be avoided. Overall, I wasn't blown away, but I wasn't excessively disappointed , I just expected a little more from the crowne plaza

The bathroom was a bit dated & could be improved. Some things in bedroom were dirty & dusty. The beds were great & we had a wonderful nights sleep, would stay again just for the bed !
