One of Best Hotels in Scotland!Posted Apr 1, 2014
Pros: Everything - decor, rooms, location, staff, food, activities (golf, boat trips, sea plane)
Cons: The Carrick spa facilities access free or at least cheaper.
Location: Perfect location with own marina running regular boat trips which are fantastic! 9 and 18 hole golf course! Daily sea plane trips leaving from hotel!
Great stay at Cameron house! All staff very friendly and welcoming, especially the valet's on arrival. Room beautiful and very clean with great amenities - coffee machine, fridge and sky tv. Food was perfect in both grill and boat house. Only small negative was extra cost to use leisure facilities at The Carrick! However, all round great hotel! Would strongly recommend!

Beautiful location on the shore of Loch Lomond, definitely worth getting a lochside room. Rooms and general decor is dark, but everything tastefully done staff were amazing, all very friendly and helpful. Lovely leisure facilities and pool area. There are several restaurants of a good standard, but not as exceptional as i would expect at such a quality hotel. Breakfast was very good. Would recommend this hotel and stay again myself, but maybe eat out in the local community on next visit.

Its still a great location but due to staff cutbacks and lack of refurbishment its now 4+ rather than 5*.

Third visit this year and as excellent as everPosted Dec 5, 2013 on Hotels.com
Despite the fact that the hotel was clearly busy when we arrived and we had to wait a short while to check in, the service by the gentlemen in the porte cochere and the ladies on reception was as always immaculate and courteous. Brilliant ambassadors for the hotel as they are the first and last people you meet. Food first class, beds as comfy as ever .Rooms and ambience perfect for the setting and exactly what they are supposed to be for an older traditional building notwithstanding various comments about the interior being dark. Special thank you to Alan who retrieved my scarf from the Boathouse, to Russell ( the younger gentlemen) who kindly sought me out in the restaurant to return it to me and to the gentleman with the "tache" whose name I didn't get but who ferried us around on this trip and the last. All go the extra mile and it shows. Drinks in the bar pricey but what a view and atmosphere. Remember to book restaurants in advance as they can get busy and you might end up with no table. Will return as soon as I can and continue to recommend.
