2 - night stay

Posted Jul 26, 2015
Pros: Food - Fitness Suite
Cons: Cleanliness
Location: A Cinema and a number of Restaurants are ten minutes away.
The positives of this Hotel is the Fitness suite which is good. The late night bar along the Quay side - which is clean and friendly. The food, fish and chips is expensive, but, very nice. The comfortable and fairly quite room. The negative's is the rather dusty room, with the stained carpet in the room. Finally, I arrived back on the second day at 4pm after a walk around the City Centre to find my room had not been cleaned. I spoke to the Receptionist who told me that the rooms were still being cleaned. At 4.30pm, thirty minutes later, the cleaner knocked, politely on my door to say, they were really busy today and I can now clean your room. I replied that it was to late, as I would have to vacate the room again. This was not something I wanted to do having been out for the majority of the morning and afternoon. Overall a good but not great stay at this Hotel.

Very good hotel within walking distance of venue

Posted Jul 17, 2015
Pros: The hotel staff were attentive and friendly, they provided a high standard of service ensuring we enjoyed an excellent stay.
Cons: Nothing
Location: We visited the SSE Hydro. In the area there are the SECC and Armadillo venues. There is easy access to public transport and city tour bus.
We stayed here as we had tickets to see Bette Midler at the SSE Hydro in Glasgow. The hotel is within walking distance of this venue and the city centre. We have stayed in this part of the city before but not at this hotel. We were very pleased with the standard of service provided by the reception, bar and restaurant staff who made our stay as perfect as we wanted it.

Not best location 20 minute walk to centre

Posted Jun 13, 2015
Given the price paid for accommodation £229 night I expected wonderful menu choice and quality. This was not the case. Steak was horrible next night fish and chips : tasteless Suggest if you stay here you eat elsewhere

For a gig at the Armadillo - perfect location

Posted May 5, 2015
Pros: Location and price!
Cons: nothing
Location: All Glasgow gig venues are near by - that's all I've ever done in that area.
Great location for the gig and we met friends at La Rotunda opposite for a meal. It all worked perfectly, location, parking all easy walking distance meant we could enjoy the hotel, meal and gig in complete relaxed surroundings. Not a palatial room - but very functional - one of the best "chain" hotels I've stayed in.

Nice hotel, with very helpful staff, right on the Hop On Hop Off city bus route. Good restaurant and parking for a small fee.

Disappointing and Uncomfortable

Posted Apr 22, 2015 on Hotels
Lovely hotel with beautiful views. Room was tiny - really tiny. Even smaller bathroom. Pretty clean but under the desk hadn't been touched in a while. Bed was the most uncomfortable bed I've ever slept on. Was so hard I would have been better off on the floor. It would have creaked less. The breakfast was ok. After trying to get someones attention to bring plates to the buffet. No one came back to offer us tea, coffee or toast, or to see if we wanted to order from the menu. We left as soon as we could. I emailed feedback to Hilton who promised a reply in 3 working days. It is now 6 working days and still no response. I expected better.
