MAX Serviced Apprtments - Glasgow
Posted Jan 16, 2013
Pros: Incredibly convenient location in the heart of Glasgow and the appartment layout provided everything you needed for comfortable at-home living.
Cons: It definitely needed a good cleaning, significant amounts of basic maintenance, and for our entire stay we never once saw anyone at the reception desk
Location: Great location - almost equidistant to both major train stations and it was well situated for both shopping and entertainment.
We chose MAX Serviced Appartments for its central location, which indeed turned out to be superb. As a word of caution - do note the requirement to obtain, before arrival, the access code to the front door as well as the safe combination in order to retrieve your room key. There is what appears to be a reception desk in the entrance lobby but we never saw it occupied during our five day stay. The appartment layout is very good and makes for a very comfortable at-home feeling stay. The kitchen is very well equiped including a handy clothes washer/dryer. However, if it wasn't for the great location and superb layout of the appartment we would have been sorely disappointed with these accomodations. We had to clean the bathroom before we would use it and there wasn't even any toilet paper in the appartment - we went and bought some. The in-room safe was damaged and unserviceable and there was unrepaired damage on a living room wall beneath the TV. The whole place could have used a good vacuuming. As well, we noticed that the "secure" front door had been left open half the times we went out, raising concerns over overall safety and security of the building. We would consider staying again, because of the location/layout, but would hope to see a vast improvement in the quality of cleanliness and maintenance. We are people who are content camping, and would not consider ourselves picky, unfortunately, our room was substandard by any measure.

Disappointing

Pros: Location
Cons: Noise during the night
Location: Convenient for sightseeing, shopping, restaurants
Reception staff would be a good idea. This area seemed to be used for partying, remained dirty for several days, including the elevator. We had to phone & request kettle, toaster, blow dryer, which did arrive very promptly. Keys were not in their appointed slot on arrival, eventually cleaning staff let us in.

Pros: Location
Cons: Lack of care and up keep of the apartment.
Location: Excellent location close to shops, art gallery and train station.
Booking on Expedia was fine no problems at all, I was told I had to contact the hotel to get a door code, after leaving 2 message 3 emails and a facebook message they finally got back to me but only a couple of days before we were due to arrive. Information states "Included in the cost-wifi,linen/towel change, on arrival toiletries and milk, cereal, water, tea, coffee etc. Child cots/fold down beds also available free of charge on request." On the Friday lunch time the day before we were due to arrive I was sent an email telling me I had to pay an extra £12 for my sons fold down bed so not free and with such sort notice I had no choice but to pay it. The toiletries were one soap the size of a 50p. Milk - 3 little pots of UHT milk cereal - None to be found. Water - out of the tap ! Tea - 1 tea bag, coffee none to be found. There was also no DVD player as listed or instructions on how to use the kitchen appliances, But the biggest problem was lack of working lights only one of the lights worked in the bathroom the lamp in the living room only had 1 out its 6 bulbs and that popped on the first evening the kitchen had 6 lights only 3 worked. you may ask why did I not get this sorted with the hotel while I was there. reception was closed our whole visit. it should of been open on the Monday when we left but no one was there.

Disappointing stay
Posted Jan 6, 2013
Cons: No onsite staff
Location: Convenient
While convenient and clean, there is no staff onsite to help answer questions or point you in the right direction. If there are any problems with the room, good luck! The front door "lock" was broken during our stay, but no one to report this to! We felt this was a security concern. And, if you book with Expedia (or other onsite travel site), be sure to get the codes (front door, when working, and Internet) in advance. We were disappointed in the overall experience.

Great location, very spacious accommodation
Posted Jan 27, 2013
A very spacious apartment, well appointed, and in a great location. Could not have been better. No staff on site since it was the weekend. This was a shame because I wanted to report that that fridge temperature was not low enough and clearly the appliance was not working adequately. Otherwise it was a very comfortable and enjoyable.

Rather Disappointing
Posted Jan 21, 2013
Pros: Very Central
Cons: No TV in Bedroom or DVD in Livingroom area
Location: Brilliant
Basically the place was probably up to scratch a few years, but is looking shabby and needs updated. The bathroom was not very clean and had a few long dark hairs round the bath and there was quite a bit of mould. There was no DVD Player which it said there would be. The lift went out of service on Saturday morning and we therefore had to climb all the way to the 5th floor several times each day. After the guy let us in on Friday afternoon we never seen another soul until the cleaners on the Monday morning as we were leaving! The creakiest floors on the planet!!!

Glasgow in March - The Style Mile area

Pros: Perfect location, easy to check in and out of. The apartment was nice and big with plenty of room. I also enjoyed the use of the updated appliances.
Cons: Overall clean however the dresser drawers should have been vacuumed. Did not use due to debris.
Location: The location was perfect. It was in the middle of everything and easily accessible to restaurants, shopping, busses and trains.
I was overall pleased with my experience. In my first room the fridge was not working and when I mentioned it they provided me with a new room at my convenience. I was very pleased that immediate action was taken. I was unsure where to put the garbage when it became full. I was able to find someone cleaning a room and asked. A suggestion would be to have a booklet in each room explaining how to operate the appliances in the apartment. The first room I had, did have a book with instruction for a couple of the appliances but not all. The second apartment did not have any instructions for any of the appliances. On Wednesday someone did come in to clean the room. The garbage was not emptied but the bedding was changed and the bathroom was cleaned. A sign posting the day someone comes in to clean would have been helpful. I decided not to use the dresser as I found it dirty and kept everything in my suitcase. I suggest that a liner be placed in the drawers to be wiped or replaced after each guest or have them vacuumed out after each guest. This would rectify the situation. I was happy with my stay at the apartment and would return.
