Nice hotel within a short walk of city centrePosted Nov 25, 2013
This hotel has very friendly staff, who were very accommodating and even offered a complimentary late check out when we explained out flight home was a late one. The rooms are nice and clean, room service was excellent. I'd definitely recommend.

An excellent hotel close to city centre.Posted Nov 17, 2013
Pros: Almost everything, except for the air-conditioning. Perhaps it was just unfortunate that I was given that room.
Cons: Change / service the blower fan and thermostat in the air-cond unit in room 108.
Location: See above.
Good location. Value for money. Excellent breakfast spread. Very comfortable room, though slightly dated. The air-conditioning unit was not working well - being noisy and not blowing out warm air (when it was 0 degrees outside). Within walking distance to good restaurants, major shopping area and interesting tourist attractions.

Marriott does it cheapPosted Nov 3, 2013
Easy hotel to get to from the airport, check in simple and staff friendly. For a business trip this is ideal and very competitively priced although a little away from the centre

Convenient, value for money, comfortablePosted Oct 21, 2013
Pros: The quality bed, bed linen and pillows could not have been more comfortable and the colour scheme was lovely
Cons: More tea and milk, the room was clean but the net curtains were dusty and a cigarette burn in them evidenced that a smoker had used the room.
Location: Very central for shopping, sight-seeing, Motorway access (M8, M74, M77) restaurants etc etc
I was attending a function in the hotel so it was convenient. I booked early (6 months) gaining an excellent rate. I was impressed with the quality bed, linen and decor. The dinner was nicely presented, hot and served by lovely, helpful staff More tea and milk in the room would have been a plus. The room itself was clean but the net curtains were grey and dusty and had a cigarette burn in them. Notwithstanding the negatives I would definitely stay again.

Tired hotelPosted Oct 7, 2013
Tired-looking hotel in need of a refurb / upgrade. It is not 4 star calibre. The staff was very nice and helpful however.

Great hotelPosted Sep 11, 2013
Pros: Quality of decor and the great customer service.
Cons: Getting to the pool was a bit odd, with lots of stairs & corridors. At this class of hotel WiFi and parking should definitely be free for guests.
Location: Close enough to city center for walk into shops. We walked to Science Ctr which provided hours of amusement! Wouldn't recommend walking in winter mths
Stayed for two nights with my young daughter and we had a great time! She loved the pool and the kids menu was good. Definitely American-style customer service - every member of staff we interacted with was friendly and helpful. What others say about the beds/pillows is true, they are amazing. I don't normally sleep well in hotels but this one was the exception :-) The breakfast may be a buffet but it's the best breakfast buffet I've ever seen! Selection was huge, something for everyone, even kids. To be balanced though, I find their charge for WiFi absolutely exorbitant and this class of hotel should not be charging overnight guests for parking. They have hourly rates for those visiting the health club or attending meetings and I'm sure that more than covers their expenses of an unmanned parking lot. I'll be trying out Glasgow's other 4* hotels before returning here purely on the principal of being charged for WiFi and parking. I mean, seriously, McDonalds has free WiFi, as do the Holiday Inn Express! I chose Marriott for the indoor pool, but have already prepared my daughter for not getting one at the next nice hotel, because I prefer free WiFi! But life is all about choices, at least the hotel booking data tells you that WiFi and parking aren't free. Nobody likes those kind of surprises!

Nice Hotel in Good LocationPosted Sep 9, 2013
Pros: Bedding and Breakfast
Cons: Lower parking charge for guests.
Stayed for a night on Saturday 8th. Room a fairly standard Marriot room, comfortable bed and nice bedding. Breakfast in the morning was very good. A good choice of hot and cold food. The leisure club, in particular the pool area starting to look a bit old and dated but overall ok. My only objection is paying £8 for parking for the night. I was told before that this was competitive for Glasgow, however I have stayed at least 5 times in Glasgow in the past year and this is my only stay in the Marriot. There is a hotel across the road that only charges £3. I would stay here again but only if the price is right + £8.
