Glasgow visit

Posted Jul 17, 2014
Pros: Friendly.
Location: Relatively pleasant and quiet hotel, and easily reach to town center only 8-10 mins walk . Bus stop ( hop on hop off) is almost on the doorstep .
A pleasant quiet hotel and quite friendly people. We mostly out and about in Glasgow and only went back to wash and sleep. However at the time when we met the staffs and request the things , they are always friendly and meet our request.

Disappointing start but improved end product

Posted Jun 30, 2014
Pros: The breakfast and the geniality of the reception staff Large bedroom The pool complex looked inviting
Cons: Old fashioned room decor and unpleasant air freshener
Location: Queen St station is walkable even with heavy luggage Likewise shopping
We arrived late at night after a long journey hopping off the bus from the airport Having booked a twin room we arrived to find only doubles remained. After 40 mins they had separated the beds and the room was - OK. Two groups of men were in the same position but we were all offered drinks ( and ice-cream ) whilst we waited. Next morning the breakfast was good and the reception staff were helpful with regard to storing our luggage

Hotel staff and food very good Within easy walking distance of city centre. Pleasant walks along the river at the end of the road. Area a bit run down

only minutes away from city centre

Posted Jun 2, 2014
Pros: location for city centre
Cons: ironing board placed in wardrobe kept knocking down the rail of coat hangers etc. Taps were stiff to turn and sink plug did not retain water in sink.
Location: museums, the river clyde, good shopping facilities, public services, rail bus and metro.
adequetly priced, spacious room, a good choice of menu for breakfast, helpful staff, pity the sauna was out of use.

Business hotel, good quality, well located

Posted May 11, 2014
Pros: Good sized room (mine was the "executive"), nice touch with free soft drink mini bar and bath robe. Good seating area
Cons: The bathrooms were clean and spacious but could do with modernising -lose the faded shower curtain over bath and invest in more modern shower cubicles
Location: Well located for SECC, town centre and airport shuttle bus although in an uninteresting street itself
Stayed at the Menzies for a conference at the SECC an easy half 10 minute walk away. Cheaper than the hotels attached to the centre itself. Also an easy walk into town centre and close to the airport shuttle bus. Hotel is not very atmospheric so wouldn't really recommend for romantic/ leisure break but fine for business travellers. Clean and with good sized rooms and nice facilities. Didn't get to use the leisure centre or try the restaurant although room service was decent. Staff all friendly.

Location, resto, pool and room are excellent!

Posted May 9, 2014
The first time I entered the room, there was a bit of a smell, and I thought it will be a long stay. But I opened the window for a few hours and it disappeared. I loved this hotel. The food in the resto is excellent. The pool facilities are great. The room was perfect. Very clean and comfy. Lots of room. At first glance, it might seem a bit far, but it is only a 5-10 minutes walk from the central station. There is a convenience store, Tesco, close by. I could walk around to downtown to see the main attractions.
