“Good Location - Not So Good Condition”
While i don't have other hotels in Glasgow to compare with, while the location of the hotel in the City Centre on George Square was great (and literally 2 steps from the Queens St Train Station), my party found the condition of the hotel a bit disappointing. The lobby and restaurants all looked lovely, but the rooms themselves looked like they could use a bit of a facelift and thorough cleaning (specifically the carpets) and our view of the backside of the train station didn't help. In general, the hotel seemed neglected. The twin beds also seemed smaller than average but perhaps that's just the difference of European standards. It was an average hotel at a decent price.
“Definitely NOT 4 stars”
I've read a lot of negative reviews for this hotel - before I booked- and was a bit nervous about my stay here. It turned out to be okay - only just - but this is not a 4 star hotel. Viewed in the context of a 2.75 star hotel, everything was great.
“Would not recommend!”
The person at the front desk was incredibly rude. We got into our room and it was a "mini double." We had paid in advance for a double and they would not give us another room. It was small and they didn't seem to want to leave us towels. Each time we had to call up for them they acted as though we were inconveniencing them. Never stay here again!
“Best location”
Location is right smack on next to the train station. Club room could be opened 24 hours to allow internet access etc. Rate I got for club room was very value for money.
“I was comfortable and relaxed here”
Courteous service was a hallmark of the Millennium Hotel. The morning I left the bellman helped me all the way across George Square to the bus stop for the Glasgow Flyer bus, rolling my heavy suitcase for me while I pushed my walker. This in a mild drizzle, too.
“Great trip, great hotel”
Hotel was very clean and comfortable. The staff was more than willing to help out with any requests. Above all the location of the hotel made for a great trip!
“Fabulous Location and friendly staff”
The location is the best possible as the Millennium is close to everything. Staff are very friendly and also very helpful whilst being flexible to satisfy customers' requests. We hired 2 rooms. In my room one of the windows could not be opened but this was not a big issue as I had another window which worked perfectly. However, the other room only had one window which was jammed (could not be opened). It was very hot inside this room and the airconditioner did not relieve the situation. We asked receptionist about this and she promised that she would send someone to fix the issue but this was not resolved (I think nobody was sent). We did not remind her though. However, this was the only issue, otherwise the service was very good, rooms were clean, and staff very helpful.
“Excellent choice for Glasgow Hotel: perfect location, great facility”
We were very happy with our choice of hotel. The tour bus stopped right out front & took us all over town. We could see that we had made what we thought was the best choice in hotels. The location couldn't be better. The staff is excellent. The room was very clean, & quiet. They provide in room tea, coffee & cookies. We highly recommend the hotel.
