Quite noisy one night & very hilly location

Posted Jul 23, 2014
Didn't realise it was so far from the centre of town & that to walk it was not so easy because of hilly terrain. Often the staff in the dining room were very busy & didn't attend to your request for some time.

Spacious but ordinary

Posted Jul 9, 2014
For the money involved I expected a bit better. Building is big but a bit run down. It was the only Accom I had on a four week tour of Greece,Turkey,Paris,Dublin & United Kingdom that didn't have wifi in room.though it was advertised as having it. The staff were nice & cooperative,I guess I just expected a little more for my money. xo

Hot and noisy

Posted Jun 22, 2014
Our room was uncomfortably warm and we couldn't use the air conditioning because our window was broken and didn't close...although it didn't open wide enough to allow much air to flow in. We slept terribly because of the heat and street noise which was extremely loud even on the 6th floor.

Nice hotel within walking distance of The Hydro.

Posted Jun 3, 2014
Pros: The design, the cleanliness and the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff.
Cons: Bar meals menu.
Location: The hotel was within walking distance of The Hydro and SECC and as far as I am aware not too far from the main shopping areas.
We had a wonderful stay, the room was very comfortable and everything was provided, the staff were very friendly and very helpful. We did have a meal in the bar as the restaurant didn't open till 6, the bar menu was priced at the same as the restaurant menu. Therefore my only criticism would be that although the meal was nice, it wasn't worth the price paid.

Nice overnight stay in Glasgow

Posted Jun 2, 2014
Pros: Good buffet breakfast, large comfortable and modern room.
Cons: Nothing
Location: Central location with a good selection of pubs and restaurants nearby.
We stayed at this hotel when going to the Eagles concert in the Hydro. A good selection of pubs and restaurants nearby. Spacious clean room, comfy bed and great shower. Breakfast was buffet style with good selection and hot food regularly replenished. The reception staff were really professional and helpful.

Comfortable and clean

Posted Jun 1, 2014
Pros: Location, courtesy of staff, room comfort
Location: Very nice location, quite close to city centre and main hubs, lots of eating places around along with shopping spots
We liked our brief stay at the hotel. We were upgraded to an executive room for a small price. The room was comfortable and spacious. The trash bins were rather small though. Also, the separation of the toilet and shower was a bit inconvenient. Otherwise, the location was very good and the staff was also pleasant and friendly.

Great location. Very small toilet room.

Posted May 26, 2014
Pros: Staff and managers.
Cons: Redesign toilet rooms.
Location: Everything is here.
I can generally recommend this hotel BUT not for a big guy like me. All rooms are virtually the same. The toilet room is separate from the wash basin and bath /shower. The toilet room is EXTREMELY smalland fight. I sprained my ankle trying to exit in middle of night. Hotel tried hard to accommodate and moved me go ADA room but these are scarce.

This hotel could do alot better!!!!

Posted May 25, 2014
I stayed at this hotel for one night with my 2 daughters, the room was clean and nice with the exception of the extremely dirty window!! The staff were not very informative or helpful. My daughters and I went to the restaurant at 5 o'clock for our dinner as we had a show at 7 o'clock, the restaurant only had 1 vegetarian option on the menu!! My daughter's and I were still there at 6.40 and they still had not received their pudding!!! The price of they hotel was very expensive for the little I got!!!! When I booked the hotel it was half board and I was told that I then had to pay for my daughters dinner and 1 if their breakfasts, so their prices were not clear at all and the information was very poor. They kids menu didn't describe the food very well either my daughter ordered fajitas and the little bit of chicken came in a bowl mixed with tomato spices sauce covered in onions and peppers, which my daughter doesn't like and if it had stated it on the menu we would not have ordered it!!!!! We left without my daughters getting their pudding as we had been sitting for 1 hour and 40 minutes, now I only ordered a cheese pizza and had to wait 40 mins on it coming, totally unacceptable!!! When I complained at the reception desk about this I was thanked for my comment and told it would be passed on. Terrible customer service!!!! I would not stay at this hotel again neither would I recomend it to anyone!!!!!

Reasonable quality hotel, short walk to centre

We have stayed in one or two Novotel Hotels. This was not the best but it was value for the money paid. The staff were excellent, very pleasant and helpful. The buffet breakfasts were very good and we had one snack sized dinner which we enjoyed. The rooms were to a decent standard but some of the carpets in the common areas are soiled and need updating. The location of the hotel is close to the central area of Glasgow and only a short journey from some of the cultural centres. However to get from the airport bus stops to the Hotel is a fairly steep climb. There is no hotel transport which would be useful for older people. Taxis are available though.
