Central location, small friendly pub, with restaurant, food amazing. Large room with small double & ensuite, comfortable only could've been warmer. noisey. Continental breakfast only

Noisy, poor breakfast

Posted Mar 1, 2015
The ground floor is a bar. So outside was very noisy until 4am... Breakfast was just bread, coffee and yogurt. That doesn't worth the price.

Disappointing

Posted Dec 9, 2014
Pros: The staff were great, kind, friendly, and the restaurant was wonderful.
Cons: Better windows, better heat, better quality furnishings, and some sound proofing.
The room was bland with cheap furnishings. The heat was off when we got in, the windows were so draughty we could see the blinds move and even with the radiator turned up full, it couldn't keep the room warm. Every sound on the street was heard in our room. There were no face cloths in the bathroom and some of the bathroom fixtures were loose. On our last night there, the bartender had to come upstairs and ask us to stop showering, as it was leaking onto the bar below. This was not how we wanted to end our vacation in Scotland. For what we got, I feel we paid twice what it was worth.

Nice Inn style hotel

Posted Oct 24, 2014
Pros: The friendly staff, local history and convenient location.
Cons: The option to have cooked breakfast. The possibility to check-in or drop off luggage at an earlier time.
Location: Plentiful shopping, art gallery and the cathedral
An idyllic venue for urban Glasgow. A good spot for a weekend city break and a good location for shopping.

Large double en-suite, one night

Posted Oct 17, 2014 on Hotels.com
Hotel decor was nice although very dusty. There was no hand soap so had to use shower gell atached to shower wall to wash hands. Found it hard to sleep with local noise ( all through night) but i suppose thats what to expect in the city centre. The staff were friendly and helpful. Overall it was an ok stay. I do know from past experience that the restaurant serves very nice food.

Grundsätzlich top, Frühstück flop

Das Hotel eignet sich ausgezeichnet für einen Städtetrip! Einziger Wehrmutstropfen ist das Frühstück: Die Backwaren waren ungeniessbar!

Fantastic location

Staff and location was first class. Couldn't get the TV to work and the room was a little small otherwise a hidden gem in the Merchant quarter.

GOOD PLACE TO STAY IF YOU DON'T NEED A LAND PHONE

Posted Sep 20, 2014 on Hotels.com
PLEASANT, PRETTY LOCATION, FINE ROOM SERVICE. However, here are the deal breakers for me: no landline phone so I couldn't call airline to check my flight my US cell phone useless). Both hairdryers not working. With heavy luggage, getting down the stairs was arduous.

Unexpected gem in the middle of Glasgow. Above a pub and very central to everything.

Nice night away from home

Posted Sep 12, 2014
Pros: Very convenient for my hospital appointment and very friendly atmosphere.
Cons: The room could have cleaned better - very dusty headboard and th shower could have been improved. Having said that - good value for money
Location: Nice location. Can't say anything else as I had gone for a appointment.
Very friendly staff on arrival. Although I was on my own they had changed me to a double room. Later a young man came up very willingly to show me how to change channels on the TV. The room had everything I required. Had an excellent dinner in the bar with two very good glasses of wine again with lovely staff. Slept very well then a nice shower and down for breakfast, which was a good continental one. Will definitely stay there again.
