“Victoria House Hotel - nice location”
The hotel was very conveniently located. I appreciated the breakfast. There are stairs, which might be inconvenient for some travelers.
“Surprisingly good”
I was a bit skeptical when I first saw the price, but read some good reviews on here that influenced my decision. Overall, I am very happy I stayed here. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel was clean and comfortable, and you cannot beat a free breakfast every morning! I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for a place that is affordable yet comfortable and safe, but would not recommend it to anyone looking for more than they advertise (i.e. more than just a private room and a breakfast). The only thing I didn't like was the hotel asks its guest to turn in their room key anytime they leave the property.
“Great Place to Stay”
Great hotel with lots of places of interest close by. Great breakfast, great room service, and great front desk service.
“will go back”
It is very convenient to shopping, food, buses, trains, etc. the breakfast is fantastic. I have stayed there 2 times now. theres no lift, so if you can't do stairs you should request a room on the first floor. they even booked some tours for us, and there is free wireless internet in the lobby with lots of nice sofa's and chairs.
“Great Glasgow Budget Hotel”
It's an older building, but in a wonderful part of town. The breakfast was great, and the staff were friendly and helpful. I will definitely stay there again!
“pure bed & breakfast”
If you want only bed & breakfast, then this is a good place. Excellent breakfast, decent rooms, nice people, central position. Very good for the price. Otherwise, somewhat disappointed. Wireless did not work for the whole week we stayed there and there were no signs that they were trying to fix it. The room was at the lowest level, with the window facing a wall - this was somewhat surprising. In short, this is a hotel for the budget tourist who sleeps, eats a full breakfast and then goes in town or neighborhoods and returns in the evening.
“Great Hotel for Budget Traveller.”
This hotel was exactly what I was expecting. A quaint Scottish B&B. The overall condition of the hotel was acceptable although it was in need of a new carpet and such. The comp. breakfast every morning was superb I must say and can be considered the highlight of my trip. The area where the hotel was located had quite a lot of graffiti although it was in a pretty safe area. The hotel also is located close to many nice restaurants. Overall nice hotel for people on a budget, if you can afford to stay somewhere a little better, I would recommended it.
“great breakfast buffet”
The hotel was very cozy and the staff was helpful with directions and providing information about things to be aware of in the city like parking passes.
“Wonderful Staff and Service”
Staff is top of the line, breakfast is good.Centrally located with easy access to shopping, train, bus, tours and tourist center. Hotel is at top of very steep hill with many steps leading from st to entrance. There is very limited st. parking. There were flights of winding, wooden stairs to our room. There is NO elevator and no assistance with baggage, altho staff offered to help when we checked out. Also, had a read in a previous review the possibility of bed bugs. The last day there, my daughter stated that she thought there might be bed bugs and had bites. I was itching. To be fair it might have been something we picked up in our travels, but the previous review did spring to mind.
“Decent Hotel”
The breakfast was good and the room was decent. It looked cute and cozy, but I woke up with red bumps all over my arms. Not sure if they were bed bugs or hives from the laundry detergent (although I've never been allergic before). I woke up with more bumps after the second night too and they took about a week to go away. The staff was really nice and accommodating.
