Extremely beautiful, we had a great timePosted Oct 28, 2013
We recently had the pleasure of staying at Mango Valley for one night and thoroughly enjoyed our visit. This place is absolutely lovely, serene and relaxing and so are the people. The hosts were wonderful and very accommodating, always with helpful suggesting scenic places to visit and dine. The scenes are charming and the rooms spotless. The pool is wonderful and a only a few steps from your room. Breakfast was include with homemade baked goods by the owners and was exactly what we needed. We would definitely stay at Mango valley again if we are ever lucky enough to return to Costa Rica!

Beautiful views from a great little placePosted Aug 29, 2013 on Hotels.com
The owners are great, very friendly and helpful with activity ideas and planning. 4WD was useful for the drive up the steep hill to get there. The views from our balcony, which included the grounds of the hotel itself, were breath taking for our first day in Costa Rica. The free breakfast cooked to order was a great way to start the day.

A wonderful experience!!Posted Aug 16, 2013
Jose and Maite are a wonderful couple who seem like they have been in the business of hospitality for years. I can't wait to go back to mango valley. Rooms are very clean and cozy and the terrace is enough to keep you occupied for days. I barely left the room. The pool is spectacular. I needed a soul vacation and I am very luck to have found it. Thank you Jose and Maite for your kindness and a wonderful vacation.

Hotel Mango Valley is beautiful! The location is great, the landscape is fantastic, and the owners are super friendly. Very personal owners eager to help and provide recommendations. Much more like staying with friends than staying in a hotel!

Mango Valley..Pura VidaPosted May 26, 2013
Pros: The views are breath-taking and the peace and silence you experience at Mango Valley is priceless.
Cons: Being too far away from town can be a bit annoying. There are no stores nearby and you have to either walk or wait for the slow public transportation.
My wife and I traveled to Costa Rica for the first time and were greeted by Jose and Maite , the hotel managers, upon arriving at Mango Valley Hotel. The views from the hotel are breathtaking as you can see the valley and the Poas Volcano. The room in which we were staying in was very clean and well kept, nice kitchen area, and a very comfortable bedroom, including satellite tv and free wifi. The rooms do not have A/C, but with the beautiful Costa Rica weather, it wasnt needed at all. We had a yummy breakfast every morning cooked by Jose, Maite, and Nuvia and had the opportunity to talk with them about everything and anything. We had fun just hanging out with them and really helped us with the Costa Rica experience by giving us endless advice about which sites to visit and which ones to skip. The stay at Mango Valley was very relaxing since it isnt your typical resort full of people. We had very quiet nights, which was very nice ofcourse, but sometimes you could hear the people in the other rooms. Overall staying at Mango Valley was a great experience and a very unforgettable one as well. We recommend it to anyone in the Grecia, Alajuela region of Costa Rica looking for a quiet place outside of town. We would gladly visit again in the future. Pura VIda!

The owners were super nice!!!! We arrived at the evening, it took us a while to find the place ... Many natives helped us and were very nice day. Make sure you are familiar with the hotel's location on the map before traveling by car. The owner came out to greet us and were very nice, they explained a bit about themselves, the hotel, asked if there is anything else they can get us and wished us good night. The room was nice, it had everything we needed ... The bed was not very comfortable. Breakfast was very good. The owner helped us plan all our itinerary in Costa Rica, we flew last minute and did not have time to plan anything. In summary - a very nice stay, very reasonably price, very very nice owners !!!

OutstandingPosted Feb 27, 2013
We stayed at this B&B for a 2 week vacation in Costa Rica. Located a few minutes outside of Grecia, this fantastic B&B provided so much more than just a great central location to see Costa Rica from. The beautiful one bedroom cabin had everything we needed to live in if we wanted to just retire there :) the view from the private patio watching humming birds while we were sitting in the rocking chairs almost turned us into whinos :) the location is just far enough up the hill from Grecia to provide serenity and incredible views of the stars. Taking day trips from our cabin allowed us to see volcano to beach attractions across the country while enjoying their fantastic hospitality. The plates of fruit as a pre breakfast snack are enough to fill some people but forge on because you still have bacon and eggs and toast and hash brown afterwards. Don't forget the excellent coffee from this volcanic coffee paradise. Overall value for this B&B is outstanding although if you lounge around the pool without sunscreen you'll get a sunburn so they need to do something about that :) Jose should get a donkey for the grounds too for kids like me who visit :)
