Customer service at it's best.

Came to Latrobe from Mishawaka, Indiana for a wedding. Arrived later then we anticipated, however check in was snappy fast and everyone was smiling and so pleasant. There were 2 ladies at the counter, both were presentable and friendly. One of them offered us some fresh cookies. That's a first ever. Room was spotless and better then I had expected. Every employee we came into contact with smiled, said hello, asked if we needed anything. Breakfast was fresh and had a good varity. The food area was kept clean and well stocked. Tables were clean and sit down ready.(empty ones). The gal who checked us out was as pleasant as the first 2. I would stay there again without question.

Pure Relaxation

Posted Aug 25, 2014
Pros: The free breakfast, comfortable bed and shower.
Cons: dont use decorative pillows
Location: We went to Sharky's cafe for Dinner which was right beside the hotel, it was very good. It was about an hr away from Ohiopyle State. Cucumber Falls
From the time I walked in I was impressed. The check in lady told us there was free hot breakfast along with free fruit, juice and coffee 24/7. There were also fresh baked cookies. I was very pleased with our room. It was roomy, clean and very comfortable. The bed was huge and so comfortable I wanted to take it home with me. There was a messaging shower head in the bathroom, a mini fridge, microwave and a safe in the closet. The only thing I didnt like is there was a small decorative pillow on the bed that didnt look too clean (it was spotted with something) But other than that I loved my stay

Better than expected!!

Pros: The nice staff and the cleanliness.
Cons: It would be nice if they had an indoor pool.
Location: Shopping and idlewild park & splash zone.
Traveling with 2 toddlers is always an adventure, so cleanliness is top priority on my list. That being said Wingate is probably one of the cleanest hotels i have been to in a long time. The staff was very friendly an eager to please. The breakfast was a nice surprise, now granted this is not a restaurant, but there was a large variety to choose from. Waffles, scrambled eggs, sausage, variety of cold cereal, milk, juice, coffee, variety of yogurts, fresh fruits, breads, cookies and doughnuts. The kids loved it and I really can't complain, the food was good. They other plus was the hotel is located in the middle of a shopping district. And it is only 7 miles from Idlewild park and Splash Zone! I would definatly stay again!

Great Customer Service( awful room)

Posted Jun 23, 2014
Pros: Location near idlewild/ free breakfast
I will say this; The front desk was very nice and very helpful. The free hot breakfast in the morning was good for it being free. The room was very clean as soon as we got into the room. However, the beds were very uncomfortable, The jetted tub was dirty and had stuff coming out of the jets which was disgusting. I was told this hotel had a pool and it did not. It had a whirlpool tub which worked for the two days we were there for my kids. The room also had ants in it which we were on the 2nd floor. The a/c cord looked broken and needs replaced. To sum it all up if your going to just stay in the hotel to eat and sleep and leave then this is your place but for a family i probably wouldnt stay at this hotel again.

Great place to stay while visiting Saint Vincent.

Good experience overall, great selection of food for breakfast. The only problem I had was with the hotel pillows. I had a really difficult time getting to sleep with them. I even woke up the next morning with really bad neck pain. Not a good start for an all day college visit.

Excellent location to St. Vincent's College

Posted May 23, 2014
Pros: The hotel location to the Latrobe PA area can't be beat! If one is going to a conference at St. Vincent's College, this is the place to stay!
Cons: Everything about this hotel is first rate! Their staff is fantastic!
Location: St. Vincent's College and the Fred Rogers Center is just minutes away. The local airport and the fine dining available there is also a short drive.
One could not want a more convenient location to both the Arnold Palmer Airport and St. Vincent's College, the Fred Rogers Center. The hotel staff was just fantastic in providing the name of an excellent restaurant at the airport where my family and I enjoyed one of the best meals ever! We would highly suggest the Wingate by Wyndham to anyone looking for a place to stay in Latrobe, Pennsylvania. It can't be beat!

weekend away

Posted Mar 17, 2014
Pros: it was very clean. the staff at the front desk were wonderfully friendly!
Cons: The bes were way too soft. i, and most people i know, prefer a much firmer mattress. this was to pillowy. DVD player or pay per view would be nice.
Location: lots of places to eat and shop. we came in the offseason so most of the activities nearby were not open yet, but we knew this already.
the entire hotel was very clean and the amenities were quite nice. we didnt use most of them but we did see them all and everything seemed maintained well and clean. there was a strange smell in the hallways but luckily the room didnt have that smell at all.
