Better than expected!!

Posted Jul 20, 2014
Pros: The nice staff and the cleanliness.
Cons: It would be nice if they had an indoor pool.
Location: Shopping and idlewild park & splash zone.
Traveling with 2 toddlers is always an adventure, so cleanliness is top priority on my list. That being said Wingate is probably one of the cleanest hotels i have been to in a long time. The staff was very friendly an eager to please. The breakfast was a nice surprise, now granted this is not a restaurant, but there was a large variety to choose from. Waffles, scrambled eggs, sausage, variety of cold cereal, milk, juice, coffee, variety of yogurts, fresh fruits, breads, cookies and doughnuts. The kids loved it and I really can't complain, the food was good. They other plus was the hotel is located in the middle of a shopping district. And it is only 7 miles from Idlewild park and Splash Zone! I would definatly stay again!

Great Customer Service( awful room)

Posted Jun 23, 2014
Pros: Location near idlewild/ free breakfast
I will say this; The front desk was very nice and very helpful. The free hot breakfast in the morning was good for it being free. The room was very clean as soon as we got into the room. However, the beds were very uncomfortable, The jetted tub was dirty and had stuff coming out of the jets which was disgusting. I was told this hotel had a pool and it did not. It had a whirlpool tub which worked for the two days we were there for my kids. The room also had ants in it which we were on the 2nd floor. The a/c cord looked broken and needs replaced. To sum it all up if your going to just stay in the hotel to eat and sleep and leave then this is your place but for a family i probably wouldnt stay at this hotel again.

Great place to stay while visiting Saint Vincent.

Good experience overall, great selection of food for breakfast. The only problem I had was with the hotel pillows. I had a really difficult time getting to sleep with them. I even woke up the next morning with really bad neck pain. Not a good start for an all day college visit.

Excellent location to St. Vincent's College

Posted May 23, 2014
Pros: The hotel location to the Latrobe PA area can't be beat! If one is going to a conference at St. Vincent's College, this is the place to stay!
Cons: Everything about this hotel is first rate! Their staff is fantastic!
Location: St. Vincent's College and the Fred Rogers Center is just minutes away. The local airport and the fine dining available there is also a short drive.
One could not want a more convenient location to both the Arnold Palmer Airport and St. Vincent's College, the Fred Rogers Center. The hotel staff was just fantastic in providing the name of an excellent restaurant at the airport where my family and I enjoyed one of the best meals ever! We would highly suggest the Wingate by Wyndham to anyone looking for a place to stay in Latrobe, Pennsylvania. It can't be beat!

weekend away

Pros: it was very clean. the staff at the front desk were wonderfully friendly!
Cons: The bes were way too soft. i, and most people i know, prefer a much firmer mattress. this was to pillowy. DVD player or pay per view would be nice.
Location: lots of places to eat and shop. we came in the offseason so most of the activities nearby were not open yet, but we knew this already.
the entire hotel was very clean and the amenities were quite nice. we didnt use most of them but we did see them all and everything seemed maintained well and clean. there was a strange smell in the hallways but luckily the room didnt have that smell at all.

The rooms were very nice and very clean. The breakfast was great as well! Only downside is we specificlly wanted a room with a hot tub and it didn't work. We called the front desk and did what they told us to do and it still didn't work. Overall though, very nice hotel. Would recommend.

Business trip

Wingate hotels always seem a safe bet for my comfort and tastes, hotel was nice and would stay again. The only thing was the beds were not left smooth, it was as if the beds were made up from the night before without changing the sheets and I had to look very closely to determine if they were changed. I stayed and did not complain.

Pittsburgh steelers game stay

Posted Dec 19, 2013 on Hotels.com
We stayed here for a steelers game as it was closer to home and only an hour drive from the stadium. There were a lot of places to eat in that surrounding area. Breakfast at the hotel was great! Staff was friendly, rooms were spotless. I would definitely stay here again.
