Nice hotel with good loungePosted Oct 13, 2013
Nice hotel, very comfortable beds. The lounge was cool with many sitting areas, use of computer, internet, printer and fax. TV as well. The Bistro was a great little food joint serving Statbucks, however only open for breakfast and dinner. They also have healthy items as well as drinks. Location not great but across from hospital and given overall area, not too bad. Staff was very helpful and courteous. Gym minimal but I made it work. I did have many problems connecting to Internet which was very frustrating esp since I had work to do. Overall good experience

Great RemodelPosted Oct 10, 2013
Pros: The styling of the furnishings in rooms as well as the lobby. The pool was small but nice as an indoor pool.
Cons: There was a slight problem with the wireless network, which the management acknowledged and provided apologies.
Location: Location near a major roadway with restaurants and some shops. Just across the street from a major medical center in Greenville.
The hotel was recently remodeled (6-8 months prior) and the new details and style were excellent and tasteful. The small boutique cafe was full service with light sandwiches, salads, Starbucks coffee and bear and wine. All staff were attentive and pleasant.

Rough around the edgesPosted Sep 25, 2013
Pros: The internet was free and was pretty reliable. The staff were really nice at check in.
Cons: The elevator and shower issues must be fixed. Also, some more lighting at the back of the hotel would make guests feel much safer when parking there.
Location: It is in the medical district of Greenville; also there are restaurants and basic places to shop (grocery stores, drug stores) nearby.
I was overall disappointed with my stay, which surprised me for a Courtyard Marriott. There were just a few basics that were out of place: 1. My room was near the elevator, which made a loud clunking sound all night and during the following morning, interrupting my sleep and work (which was all I was there to do). 2. The shower made a loud squealing noise at any pressure, so much so that it was uncomfortable to even be in the bathroom with the shower running. 3. Parking is also limited near the front of the hotel, so I had to park around the back when I returned at night when it was very dark and not well-lit, so it felt unsafe. I'm normally not a picky traveler, but this did not meet my basic expectations for a Courtyard Marriott. With these basic components of the stay out of place, it made for a frustrating, inconvenient part of my trip.

Not the Marriott I remember from previous staysPosted Aug 19, 2013
Pros: The negative experience overshadowed anything positive I may have remembered.
Cons: Customer service, continental breakfast and convenient parking for customers, and customer service, again (cannot be overemphasized!)
Location: Greenville, North-Carolina
On arrival to the hotel, there weren't any parking spaces available so my elderly mother and I were forced to park in the rear of the hotel behind dumpsters. When my mother told the hotel desk clerk about the situation, he was very curt and rude, stating " You could have used your room key to get in a side door". This was very disappointing and embarrassing that the " Marriott" had such poor customer service. I felt ashamed because I had spoke so highly of the hotel from the many previous stays I have had with such positive experiences. I could not believe this was the same Marriott hotel chain that once prided themselves on outstanding customer service. Next, to only worsen an already negative experience, the hotel staff informed me when I inquired about continental breakfast that there was "no continental breakfast" offered to the guests. The next day, my mother and I checked out of the hotel and went to a City Hotel and Bistro about 1 mile down the road. The customer service was excellent, the cost was $ 70.00 less than the Marriott hotel, and the City Hotel and Bistro did have continental breakfast! This whole experience left a negative perception of Marriott hotels for both me and my mother. I regret that the Marriott management no longer values their reputation or excellent customer service.

MOM'S STAYPosted Aug 2, 2013
Pros: PROMPTNESS OF SERVICE BY THE STAFF.
Cons: THE STAY WAS EXCELLENT IN EVERY WAY.
Location: LOCATION WAS CONVENIENT AND EASILY ACCESIBLE TO LOCAL RESTAURANTS AND SHOPPING.
THE HOTEL AND STAFF WERE EXCEPTIONAL. THEY WENT OUT OF THEIR WAY TO TAKE CARE OF MY AGED MOTHER AND SISTER. THE STAFF RESPONDED QUICKLY WHEN AN ITEM WAS REPORTED MISSING. THE ROOM HAD BEEN RECENTLY RENOVATED AND NOT ALL ITEMS HAD BEEN PLACED IN ROOM. THE DESK WAS QUICK TO OFFER ASSISTANCE. WE WILL BE BACK.

Over pricedPosted Jul 28, 2013
Pros: Staff was very nice on check in. Close to my meeting venue
Cons: Fix the hot water problem and respond to complaints immediately. Should offer a free breakfast at the prices they are charging.
Location: ECU is very close and I had several meetings at that location.
Hotel is nice Somewhat expensive close to ECU. Shower water was so hot I could not take a shower appeared there was not cold water connected to the shower. When I called the desk they stated someone else had told them and they were working on it. I was on a schedule and had to leave so did not have time to wait around. Had to take a sponge bath. I was not very happy but had to be at a meeting and could not wait.

What can I say? Check in was easy with polite staff. My room decor rocked and was comfy and clean. I slept super well with it being really quiet. Loved it and will definitely choose to stay here again.
