Bad Booking

Pros: Location to Lander University.
Cons: Reservation process handling. Smile and make the guests want to come back. At least offer everyone a cookie!
Booked, paid for and confirmed stay several weeks in advance for a double room/ nonsmoking. When checking in, we were told they did not have the type of room we reserved available. They gave no explanation, just "sorry, we don't have it." When I complained that I had a CONFIRMED room, I still received the same response. When I asked how could this happen, I received a blank stare. Unbelievable that they give away confirmed and prepaid rooms. We 3 adults were put in a King room and one of us had to sleep on an uncomfortable pull-out sofa bed. The room smelled overpoweringly of scent-covering fabric spray. I wonder what smell they are covering up? Also the fresh-baked cookies we expect at this chain were not kept available to customers. The tray at the front desk was always empty. I heard another guest ask and they were told, "Sorry, we will put some out later."

The hotel staff was very nice and helpful. Our room was very clean and inviting. We had a great stay. I will stay at Hampton Inn again.

Nice hotel if you are visiting Greenwood and need

Visiting Greenwood to watch my son in a water skiing competition. Didn't spend much time at the hotel other than to sleep but it was clean and comfortable. Ate at the Red Lobster next door.
