A little Gem squeezed between the big guys.Posted Apr 3, 2015
I love this place. My Ocean View room was huge, much bigger than most UK hotels where Heaven help you if you actually want to open your suitcase. Enormous bed mega kingsize. Good bathroom . All kept clean and nice by the lovely Gloria.Private balcony with table and chairs. Good size fridge .TV. There is a fitness room which is worth a visit just to marvel at the antiquity of the machines and a nice little pool, but who needs those when the stunning Grand Anse beach is just the other side of the gate. There didn't seem to be a functioning bar or restaurant but maybe i missed those as I wasn't looking. Just over the road is the big, well stocked SPice Island mall supermarket, and next door are an excellent sushi restaurant and other food places and bars.... and of course there are bars and restaurants along the beach. It's plain and simple but warm and welcoming and cheaper than the bigger posher places either side.

Hotel QualityPosted Mar 23, 2015
Pros: It is well sited. Charming. Great staff.
Cons: Restaurant facility a must. Under repairs they say. They should hurry up.
Location: Its at the corner with a nice ground that could be used for exercise.
This was my third time there, so there is something about it that I love. The grounds are well kept and are charming. The staff at the desk are professional and helpful. This time around there was no restaurant/kitchen. But it is advertized as having a restaurant. I was told that they are repairing the one that used to function. I think that this is a must. They have a self help kitchen but that is not made known. It should be. Otherwise people would have to find food away from the facility each time and many people would prefer not to have to do that. Still I love the place. It is on the beach basically. I would go back there...but the kitchen must be working.

Practical, clean option for one nightPosted Mar 11, 2015
Pros: Practical location, lovely staff. Right on Grand Anse beach.
Cons: Rooms are clean, but not up to five star "granite countertop" standards. No onsite restaurant.
The Allamanda staff are excellent, accommodating and polite. The resort is very clean, wifi easily accessible. The booking with Expedia and check in were very smooth, no issues, no extra costs. Lovely Grand Anse beach is right in front of the hotel. However, it is obviously an ageing resort, and thus the facilities are not exactly five star. It is a practical option if you are just using it as a base when landing before proceeding elsewhere on the island, or the night before an early morning flight. It is not the type of place for a honeymoon or romantic all inclusive getaway. Large grocery store with a good range of products at reasonable prices within 200 metres (open extended hours), as well as a small mall, and 3 reasonable restaurants catering to tourists within 100 metres (the Boulangerie, a French/Italian even has gluten free options - a rarity on the island!). No onsite restaurant.

Nice spacious hotel. Very friendly helpfully staffPosted Jan 18, 2015
I had a lovely stay at the hotel. The lack of restaurant made it inconvenient however as I had to go out in the evening to look for food. This should have been disclosed before the booking.

Nice hotel with helpful staffPosted Dec 26, 2014
My stay was good apart from the fact that the kitchen was closed. I arrived at the hotel late and was very hungry. It was either starve the night or navigate across a few road to a restaurant. :-(

Quiet and quaint beach front hotelPosted Aug 27, 2014
Pros: The quiet. It's not a modern resort but its simplicity has its charms. It's very relaxing here and the staff is wonderful and helpful
Cons: An elevator, some rooms are 3 storeys up. Floral arrangement, postcard/stationary in the room, the noisy icemaker further away from the rooms.
Location: Excellent location. Two minutes walk to the best beach bar and restaurant on the island. Two minutes walk from the mall, food court and grocery.
Because of an early flight into the island i was ahead of check in by 5 hours, they got the room ready in 15 minutes for me at no extra charge, that's real service and customer care. I had a great ocean view room. Bathroom facilities was adequate, perfect king bed, spacious room, sufficient lighting, cable tv, air conditioning, private balcony overlooking the sea, mini-fridge and coffee station, ice bucket, writing table, closet, chest of drawers and room safe were all in working order and were assets to the décor. My 1 peeve was the ice machine was just outside my room and at night it was noisy but not so bad as to disturb my sleep. Access to the beach was easy, a scenic pathway from the hotel that took about 1 minute to the white picket gate and there before you is Grand Anse beach. Powdery sand and blue green water..little to no waves to topple you over. From the beach and the hotel you've got great views of the hills and mountains all around. I'd definitely stay here again.
