All the basics with no fuss. Nice friendly staff, two restaurants close by, wonderful view, great beach to swim.

The Gem Resort is a Gem!

Pros: The rooms are clean and nice, and the staff is just wonderful and helpful.
Cons: Nothing.
Location: The beach and pool and beach restaurant are excellent.
We rented 3 rooms for 7 people for 3 nights, and all of us enjoyed our stay. The Gem staff is amazingly friendly and warm. The proximity to the beach and neighboring pool with underwater bar are fantastic facitilites! We will be back!

You get what you pay for.

Pros: I was alone so I was looking for the least expensive place I could find. That's why I chose this hotel. Also it is steps from a very nice beach.
Cons: It's simply old and needs a huge amount of updating. Like many second world places, when things are fixed they are not done to first world standard.
Location: There is a nice beach steps away but it is not "on" the beach. It's not within walking distance of anything else other an one restaurant.
The staff was very nice and helpful. I rented a car and driving there is a true experience due to the very narrow roads and lack of signs. I had two days of planned business and two days of touring around. While the island is small by most standards, getting anywhere is slow because of the narrow, low quality roads. Hire a driver if you are apprehensive. The highlight of my touring was picking up a 20-year-old on a one-lane road in the mountains after getting lost; we spent half a day together. I took him to a couple of places he had to go and he showed me around some of the places I had intended to visit.

Great vacation spot

Pros: It was really close to Mourne Rouge Bay and the Under the Sea Restaurant and Bar
Location: You should get a car if you want to stay hear as it's not close to any public transportation.
I only went for work, but this place is great for just unwinding and relaxing

Pros: secluded
Cons: food prices , & outrages taxes
Location: mentioned above
Hotel is ok , no luxury, beach is rocky getting into the water. There were two pipes that started from inland into the water that seem to me like sewer pipes, but water was clean and clear (questionable ). Food was not the greatest, if eating at the sister hotel the kalinago food was tasty but very expensive since they charge 15 % vat tax & 10 % service charge 25% on top of a pricey menu. My wife and i simply stayed away from the hotel , we walked up two steep hills and down towards the Cinnamon Resort where we cut across onto beautiful Grand Anse beach where we spent most of our time , 15 minute walk . On Grand Anse beach you'll come across various hotels , a straw market , local food , Kentucky Fried Chicken and a small mall with a bank ,supermarket and small shops. The hotel is very out of the way so try to get back early since the area around the the hotel is not very well lit ,try to get a few items from the supermarket the rooms have a kitchen , microwave , fridge and oven , if getting back early you can walk back the same way you got down to the beach , otherwise getting a cab can cost you $10 US , now if taking a student to the ST. Georges University you may try taking the university shuttle back & forth from the top of the hill to the Grand Anse dorms this will save you the walk although it was a beautiful and a scenic experience . If just going to relax perfect place is Grand Anse beach , not much to do around the area .

Pros: The pleasant front desk and the beach setting.
Cons: Its very dated and requires to be modernized.Very expensive for what it has to offer
Location: Lots of great walks and eating places. Lovely beach and sunsets Relatively peaceful
Desk staff very nice. Room we stayed in before .Air conditioner not functioning and fridge leaking and fridge section non functioning. after his visit when he assured us it was OK .We got in touch with the front desk and we were moved to an equivalent room .We were very happy with the change

Enjoyed every minute. Upon arrival they took me next door to their "sister" resort the Kalinago. Everything was perfect. They even brought me flowers for my birthday!
