A Bad SurprisePosted Sep 20, 2013
My room on the first floor was in their renovation zone. Sorry, but I don't remember reading that anywhere, Expedia. I was awakened at 7 am sharp by the crew working just outside my door. After I returned to my room with my coffee and cereal from the temporary breakfast room I forgot to latch the safety device at the top of the door. Shortly afterwards I heard the electronic key entry click, and.....SURPRISE!...I was face to face with a construction worker who entered my room by mistake!! I was a lady traveling alone, and this was just shocking! When I told the job foreman that I was very upset, and thanked God I was dressed when his worker entered my room, he apologized. The next morning I heard someone outside my door at 4:44 AM then a strange shuffling sound. I got up to find my bill had been shoved under the door by hotel management. After pulling my luggage, heavy with books from a conference I attended, through their dusty renovation zone, and lifting it over the large cable stretched across the hallway, I voiced my concerns to the hotel shift manager. This should not happen to anyone again.

Under RenovationPosted Aug 27, 2013 on Hotels.com
The facility was under renovation. A fact that was not related when our reservations were made. The hotel staff was accommodating, friendly willing to do anything to make our stay comfortable under the circumstances. Although our room was newly remodeled, there was active construction all around us which made travelling with our grandchildren a bit tricky. It will be beautiful upon completion.

Looks like a Motel 6 turned Hampton InnPosted Aug 19, 2013 on Hotels.com
The staff was nice. But this is the ugliest Hampton Inn I've ever stayed in. My family and I stayed in a Hampton Inn last summer on the same trip and was sold- we stay at Hampton Inn all the time now. When driving through KY this last stay we drove specifically through town for the Hampton Inn. Upon arriving and entering our room we were all disappointed. My five year old said, "Are you sure we're going to stay here?" Usually my girls run right in and look around making themselves comfy. But not this time, they didn't want to stay. The facility looked so old , maybe that's why they were renovating. Sorry to say but we didn't like this Hampton Inn.

Pleasantly SurprisedPosted Aug 14, 2013
Pros: Decor. Beds. Breakfast.
Location: Very close to highway. AMC Theater. Smokey Bones, Texas Roadhouse, Olive Garden, O'Charleys, Longhorn, fast food, plus COSI Crew Stadium and OSU clos.
My son and I were staying two nights in Grove City. In waiting until the last minute in hopes of getting a great deal, we ended up needing to get two different hotels. I always thought highly of Hampton but was concerned after our first night in a comparable hotel then seeing the construction in the lobby. We were greatly surprised. The room was terrific! Beatiful decor, three fluffy pillows on each bed, nice HD TV, fridge in the room, coffee maker & coffee, lovely cabinet for storing hanging clothes and very comfy beds. Oh, and the room was cool when we arrived. Also, It was after 11 when we checked in and I had asked about breakfast. The clerk then asked if we needed a wake up call. Breakfast was delightful-fresh fruit, cereal, juices, fresh made waffles and hot omlets. I will definitely return to this hotel when staying in Grove City again.

Great Hotel/ Great Staff - Construction ZonePosted Jun 19, 2013 on Hotels.com
The hotel was very nice and the staff was very attentive and professional. However, the entrances and overhangs were under major construction and when I arrived at 800PM, I could not tell if the hotel was open or where the entrance to the hotel was. I drove around the hotel twice before I found another customer who told me where to enter.. Everything else was perfect and the price was very competitive. I would do back.

Great BreakfastPosted Jun 17, 2013 on Hotels.com
Our room was clean and comfortable and the breakfast was excellent with a variety of choices. Location gave us easy access to downtown . However, it would have been nice to know that the hotel was under construction. There was a lot of dust in the hallways and the parking lot was a disaster.

Decent Hampton but under constructionPosted Jun 11, 2013 on Hotels.com
Typically nice room with very clean and comfy bed. The whole hotel was spotless, however there was no elevator and a whole section was under construction. I needed to hang around and work on my computer and while checkout time was an hour earlier than most Hamptons, they did let me stay until noon which I appreciated. I imagine after they complete the construction it will be much nicer.
