“Good quality and affordable...”

The hotel is the older of the two Camino Real properties in GDL, a single story setup opposed to a modern high rise. Very nice and clean with very friendly and attentive staff. Very good, quiet location with a good English speaking taxi stand a few meters away seemingly dedicated to the hotel. It's actually not central, but taxis are cheap and getting around is quick. I didn't eat there so no comment on the food.

“Excellent service. Old facility.”

The service at Camino REal is very goodbut this property is old and does not offer conveniences to the business traveler. The location is very good and the garden setting very pleasant. A good buy for the price

“Good place to stay”

It's not the best in the Camino Real Chain, but it was nice. The room was really big and we enjoyed having a patio that opened onto a nice big garden where we could play with our daughter. The pools were small but REALLY warm - good for chilly mornings/evenings, but too hot during the day. The breakfast buffet was not the best and pricey for what was offered. Also, we were driving and had a VERY hard time finding the hotel. So if you're getting there on your own, I recommend calling to ask for directions.

“a city resort”

Very convenient hotel in broader centre of Guadalajara. Spacious, well maintained, studio-like rooms, pool just in front of the door, lavish breakfasts. Great hotel for family travelers who expect all inclusive comfort. However there are minor stains on the overall hotel quality - even if the price is (especially in mexican conditions) stiff, some expected services are not complimentary - bottled water in the room, wireless, ... Staff, however very helpfull, often expects tip with providing no value (ie when accompanying guest to the room - but guest had to carry his luggage himself). Great hotel, but you will not get touch of real Mexico.

“Mostly good but two complaints”

I only have two complaints about this hotel: 1) The walls are paper thin so you can very easily hear the person in the next room and people in the hall. That said, this is very common for Mexican hotels. 2) The breakfast buffet is held outdoors which is nice for ambiance, but birds fly down from the trees and pick at the food, especially the breads which is a huge food safety issue. I pointed this out to the waiters but they didn't express any concern. Other than these issues, this hotel is lovely, clean and the staff are very friendly and professional.

“Can be the best, can be the worst”

I requested a nice room close to the pool. I got the farthest room of the hotel and when I say the farthest I really mean it. My neighbors were the Chrysler dealership (garage section) and a huge avenue (Vallarta). We went for a wedding so imagine a 10 minute walk with gowns, high heels, tuxedo, etc. on a sunny, hot day. The only relief I had was that those rooms adjacent to the main swimming pool get blocked on weekend by inflatable games for hundreds of noisy children that celebrate holy communions, baptism, etc. It is not a private-peaceful hotel anymore although the service is amazing.
