“Great hotel especially for the price”
I will definitely stay here again when I return to Guadalajara
“Alcazar- great place in GDL”
right off the Calzada Independencia. large clean rooms. nice 'public spaces'. restaurant on site, nice breakfasts. BTW in the hotel building around the corner is an OXXO market (like a 7-11) in case you want soda or a snack or water) a few blocks walk to the Cathedral area. the "TUR" bus to Zapopan Tlaquepaque and the Nueva central bus station stops directly opposite. If you want BRT to the zoo or Agua Azul or the old bus station (connection to Chapala buses which took me to and fro to the airport), that's also right there on Calz. Independencia in the BRT "Station"
“Highly recommended”
Although on a busy intersection, the hotel has high quality windows to keep the noise out. Very professional and helpful staff. High quality furnishings in the room. I highly recommend this hotel.
“GREAT STAY...”
EXCELLENT SERVICE..VERY FRIENDLY STAFF..WALKING DISTANCE TO DOWNTOWN..WOULD STAY THERE AGAIN..
“Good for short stay in downtown Panama”
Location and breakfast are Ok. Good hotel if you need to stay a couple days in the center of the city.
“Very nice downtown location”
If you want to stay close to downtown Guadalajara this hotel is difficult to beat, excellent cleanliness and location convenient to all the historical areas of the city. However, my favourite area of Guadalajara is around Chapultepec with very nice restaurants, bars and leisure, not so much downtown Guadalajara. But again, Hotel Alcazar is perfect for downtown.
“good bargain”
Spent 3 nights at the Alcazar and was completely satisfied with the hotel and its staff. The room was small (large compared to NYC standards), but clean and although on 2 major intersections, quiet. The historic city center is in walking distance as are most of the major central shopping areas. The bus stop for the10 peso bus ride to Tonola or Talaquepaque is across the street and the hotel staff will gladly direct you to it or negotiate with a cab driver on your behalf. The continental breakfast advertised on Expedia was upgraded to an American breakfast: fruit platter, egg, meat, fresh juice, coffee, roll. Several computers are available for guest use and the hotel is wireless.
“Great Hotel”
Hotel is within walking distance of downtown and San Juan de Dios (anything you want, you can find here). Getting a cab or public transportation is fairly easy. We went to Tonala and the "Central Vieja" is fairly close if you want to grab a bus to Tequila, Jalisco.
“Very good hotel for the family”
In general is comfortable, clean, and great ubication .
“Close to main areas downtown. Good value.”
I stayed here for only a night. I arrived late and the neighborhood did not feel safe. The staff advised me not to carry my bag pack if I wanted to go out at night. I stayed in an interior room and though the streets have a lot of traffic, I could not hear it in my room. The room was clean and comfortable. The hotel is very close to all major attractions downtown. It is a good value for the money.
