Great Hotel at very good price.Posted Jul 17, 2012
Location: If you want to be close to DOWNTOWN, this is great option.
Very nice place if you want to be near "Centro Historico" w/o the noise but within walking distance to all the main buildings. The Restaurant food is good, but they look short staff so the service is very slow.

Great value for the pricePosted Dec 16, 2011
Location: My spelling is poor so I apologize up front - you can walk to the Historical Centre of town in minutes, after seeing all you can see there (it takes a whole day easily if no more) jump on a Hop on Hop off bus & head to Tlaquepaque (costs $93 pesos & worth it). Tlaquepaque is worth it. great shops, galleries & wonderful Restaurants. You can spend a whole day there too but last bus back to Guadalajara leaves at 6:30 pm so plan accordingly. We never made it to Zapopan or Tonala but have been told they are great places to see too (Zap for it's churches & up scale neighbourhood & Tonala for awesome shopping - apparently much cheaper than Tlaquepaque but to be honest, I thought Ttlaquepaque was pretty reasonable anyway.
It's an old hotel with older furnishings. So if you are someone who what's a "Nice"place to sleep, maybe look elsewhere. What this hotel offers is clean, simple rooms with friendly staff (some with better English than others) but all friendly and polite & try to help the best they can. The hotel restaurant is nice. good food (for breakfast any way - that's the only meal we ate there). The greatest advantage to this Hotel is location location location. For the sight seer in you, you can walk to beautiful places within a couple of blocks. Other reviews say it's noisy but I guess we lucked out as we got a room facing the interior courtyard (such as it is) and noise was not an issue for us. Note I think the pool was closed (we were there in December) as the water looked iffy & I wouldn't have used it. Overall it was perfect for what we wanted & we will go back there.

Good location, great staffPosted Jan 10, 2011 on Hotels.com
Quiet neighborhood, great staff. Rooms are pretty much in good condition. Our had some updates that were cheaply done but it is an old hotel with some of the grand features (stone bathroom counter tops) still in effect. Rooms very clean and huge. Restaurant good. Good location within walking distance to the historical district.

A little noisy but it's ok!Posted Dec 8, 2010
If you're not picky, the hotel is ok (and so cheap!). The location and the staff are great. Some rooms are too noisy and hot, but nothing unbearable.

Too BadPosted Sep 22, 2010
Nice room, comfortable, and pretty clean and neat. Good value. Maid service excellent. Other services were terrible: forgot wake up call, forgot to have taxi for departure, no a/c for two and a half days. No one spoke any English at all. Food was good but way too expensive for area. Management needs to wake up. Could be a very, very nice place to stay if service was up to par.

Great for the PricePosted Sep 20, 2010 on Hotels.com
We really enjoyed this hotel. Loved that there is parking, and not too far from historic centro. Will stay here again next time. Very nice staff as well. Clean and spacious rooms, good for our little family.

Holel Cervantes is within walking distance of all the major sights in the historic center. No safety deposit box in hotel but at the reception desk. Buffet breakfast is reasonable and satisfying. Hotel rooms are spacious and bed linen clean.

Right Price, Right QualityPosted Dec 9, 2009
This hotel was clean, well maintained and provided all services offered. It is a great choice for a budget conscious traveller who wants a clean, well serviced option in the center of Guadalajara.
