Great hotel for seeing GDL on a budget.

Posted Apr 20, 2013
Pros: LOCATION
Cons: Noisey.
Location: Right in the historical center of town.
LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION is what I love about this hotel. If you are in Guadalajara on a budget and want to be close to the historical district, it is out the front door of this hotel. Best budget hotel in GDL.

Don Quijote

I think it's a great deal for the location, the price and the amenities (free internet in the rooms and a huge array of cable channels).

Pay a few pesos more

The hotel is located in a seedy area that's not well lit at night. It's also a long walk from places of interest. The hotel itself is also on the seedy side with dimly lit rooms.

Great base to explore Guadalajara

Posted May 11, 2012 on Hotels.com
After a long stay in Puerto Vallarta, Guadalajara was the Big City! The Don Quijote staff welcomed us and made us feel at home. The Mexican style hotel has a coutyard with rooms surrounding it. Our room was large and comfortable, the lobby and courtyard offered nice places to hang out. Best of all, the hotel was located just blocks away from the plazas and historic buildings of the city. Many cafes are available nearby with a range of cuisines and prices. Guadalajara is a vibrant, fun, city with a rich history to explore. The Don Quijote offered a perfect base for enjoying it.

get what you pay for

i arrived a day late due to my plane being late. so therfore lost a day out of 2 days of my reservation, they still charged for me not being their the first night. and the complemantary breakfast was a dried up toast and coffee. but they have AC and a medium size flat screen with like 40 local channels, i dont recommend walking out at night. unless you have a taxi pick you up or drop you off

You pay for what you get...

room 108 had a broken door knob. i told the receptionist and he said that it was fine. I insist to get a different one so I got 105, door knob worked, but it faced the street and the people and cars going through there in the morning got pretty loud. The parking is about a block away, not convenient at all. This hotel is pretty hard to find...I had to spend some good time driving around with my map.
