Morales Hotel is in the best location you would like to be right at the historic Centre, good Mexican restaurants close by, shops, we were told to be careful of handbags snatchers, like any where in the world need to be careful

Beautiful hotel

This hotel is just a few blocks from the center of the city. The rooms are very spacious with clean and updated bathrooms. We enjoyed the swimming pool and billiards table. The staff was very helpful. This is our second stay here and we plan to return.

A Jewel in Downtown Guadalajara

Posted Apr 8, 2015
Pros: Location, architecture, decoration, no carpets in room ( I hate carpets), generous free of charge amenities (wi-fi, internet, cable TV, bottled water)
Cons: More natural light, offer a lunch/diner buffet.
Location: Nearby, there is a myriad of places to eat, convenience stores, ATMs, historical buildings, subway stations, tour bus stations. Great location!
Since I arrived very early in the morning at GDL airport, I was afraid that an early check-in would be a problem. Arrived at the Hotel Morales at around 10:00 AM and Alejandra at the front desk helped me with my early check-in. While the room was being prepared, I decided to have breakfast at their delicious and reasonably-priced buffet. I also caught up with some e-mails at their business center (free of charge). Although this hotel is not the fanciest in town, the architecture is impressive, the rooms are nicely decorated and every detail has been considered. After all, they have been doing this for 100 years. Location is unbeatable and most everything is within walking distance. Finding something to eat is not a problem. Staff very helpful and friendly. Had a minor incident; due to some noise issues from the cantina next door, I inquired about changing rooms for the following nights which they accommodated, but I was told I needed to confirm the following morning. Since the noise was not too bad, we decided to stay in the original room. The following day, after a busy morning, we walked into the room and discovered that all of our belongings were missing. Contacted security and after 10 minutes of tense uncertainty, I received a phone call from the front desk stating that all of our stuff had been moved to the new room. What a relief! I could feel how our spirits came back to our lifeless bodies! It was just a misunderstanding. Great Hotel!

Romance and Nostalgia in Guadalajara

Posted Apr 1, 2015
Pros: The hotel hired a professional piano player to charm us during the breakfast buffet. He played the classics, Broadway show tunes, and Latin boleros.
Twenty-five years ago, I taught at the American School Foundation in this culturally-rich city. For our 20th anniversary, I decided to share this wonderful city with my husband. The Hotel Morales had been completely refurbished, and was a perfect place to spend a romantic week. Two nights, we enjoyed dining near the cathedral, just 3 blocks to the north of the hotel. One night, there was a pop trio playing "oldies but goodies" that we could dance to, and the other night, we were entertained by the brilliant tones of the mariachis and the vibrancy of folkloric dancers. !Viva Mexico!

Great location, authentic decor and Mexican feel.

Posted Mar 26, 2015
Pros: Location and ambiance
Location: Five minute walk to Cathedral, museums, shops, restaurants, etc.
The location can't get any better, walking distance to all the major historical spots in the center of the city. The hotel has an amazing old world charm that simply can't be beat. I have stayed at many hotels for business and if you are looking for a centrally located hotel with old world charm and great staff, this is the place. They also have a rooftop terrace that is very inviting. Be sure to stop by lobby bar and ask for Daniel, he is great and will remember what your drink order is.....great service at restaurant as well. Housekeepers are very friendly and quick to respond to requests.
