“City Center Tour Location "A+"”
The best part about the stay at this hotel was the "breakfast buffet" they offered at very reasonable price, large quantities and they provide anything asked for as well as a variety of Mexican food.

“Bargain with good location”
Authentic oldfashioned mansion with a lot of charm and a good location, close to city center, but quiet. If you can overlook peeling paint and some general fustiness, you will like it. Breakfast was a rich buffet at a low cost. The beds were very comfortable. The room price was a bargain.
“Great place to stay”
The San Francisco Plaza Hotel is a great hotel for a great price. While it isn't as close to main attractions, it is in decent walking distance. I could get to the main plazas in minutes. The room worked out fine. The bed was clean and the bathroom had hot water. The hotel staff we friendly and very helpful with any questions that we had. One thing to note, the hotel appeared to be in a small gay district. The clubs closest to the hotel seemed to be either gay or lesbian spots; however, this did not limit the experience.

Beautiful building, friendly and attentive staff, ideal location. Just get a room in the back, the street and lobby noise in the front can be a problem.
“Good location, good staff, very good price.”
This is the third time we've stayed at Hotel San Francisco Plaza. It is in the Centro District of Guadalajara, very near the churches, museums, plazas, and restaurants that we like to visit, so the location is great. The staff is pleasant and the hotel itself is very Mexican - lots of statuary, large windows, reasonably large rooms, fountains. The first room we were given this trip had no outside windows, and only one window that opened partially to a wide hallway. The air conditioner didn't work, and the room felt close and stifling. However, when we asked to be moved, the staff was very accommodating. We were moved to a room overlooking San Francisco Plaza, with great door/windows that opened onto a balcony. Right across from the hotel on the plaza is a nightclub that was busy and loud for most of the weekend, but other than that, it was a good location. When we came back a week later, we had a large room overlooking an internal 'plaza' that has a fountain and large cages of birds. It was very pleasant and we went to sleep to the sound of the fountain. All in all, we've always been pleased with this hotel and we will be back the next time we're in Guadalajara.
“convenient location, but in need of new matresses”
The San Francisco Hotel is in a convenient location for visiting downtown Guadalajara. It is located in a nice colonial building with lots of character. The only complaint I have was the condition of the matresses. In the room I was assigned, they were quite old and I could feel the springs. I had a couple of nights of poor sleep due to the condition of the matresses.
“Not so good”
The hotel was very old, the bedroom smells not so good and the bed was not comfortable at all. Location is great because you are just in the city's center and is walking from a lot of attractions, I guess is not the best hotel you can find but considering the price you will get what you pay for.
“"Not Impressed"”
The hotel was OK, one factor to choose the Hotel was for the interest to see the surrounding neighborhood (great Guadalajara area) ,but the at night it was empty and hard to find restaurant, just a couple of them were open.
“Okay hotel to stay under budget. Do not expect any fancy in this hotel”
Okay hotel if you travel with budget. Helpful staff with sufficient English to communicate. The hotel needs attention maintainance. No elevators. Helpful bell-boy will deliver the luggages for you. The room that we stayed in the main floor was very noisy and we got exchange to a quieter room in the 3 rd floor once the reception got our request. Nice staffs.
