Very nice stayPosted Sep 26, 2013
Pros: It is a small hotel that was charming and quiet. There were several places to sit comfortably and visit with our relatives.
Location: We were able to walk to restaurants. It is located in a safe and quiet neighborhood.
The hotel was comfortable and the staff were excellent about attending to our needs. Breakfasts were delicious.

Close to restaurantsPosted Aug 21, 2013
Cons: There could be comfortable reading chairs in each room.
Location: Many good restaurants in the area.
We stayed at the Villa Ganz for the first time, and would highly recommend it to anyone who wants to be pampered. The staff was very nice and helpful; the chef was extremely good and accommodating to our requests; the rooms were beautiful and very quiet.

Cons: If continental breakfast included, it should stated in the menu, which item for continental breakfast.
Location: restaurants. just eat nothing else.
when we checked in staff was welcoming us and very helpful. The room we had was noisy and next door dog was barking all night, we couldn't sleep at all. we told the staff to change the room for us but he couldn't because place was full that's what he told us. my hubby and I, went out to book one night to another hotel, and came back to villa ganz to pick up few things and pj. Silvio told me he managed to changed the room for us.After, we spent extra for the hotel room. The place is charming, but not to brag about it.

Lovely mansion hotelPosted Apr 5, 2013
Pros: Garden setting
Cons: Unprofessional breakfast arrangements
Lovely facility, great location, handsome rooms, fine service attitude, our only issue here was with the breakfast, which was not handled in a professional manner. Rather than detail all the misunderstandings and delays on two mornings, the situation would be greatly improved if the hotel simply supplied a printed menu, giving guests a choice of what is available, in Spanish and English. One example will suffice: We asked for eggs without salt, "sin sal, no sal" spoken in both languages slowly and clearly, and apparently understood with a nod by the server. But the dish served was overly salty. One tiny detail like that can spoil one's impression of a hotel, esp. one that uses the line "it's the details that count" in their blurbs. After 30 years working in the travel business in Asia, I judge hotels primarily by the breakfast experience.

Lovely boutique hotel for mature adultsPosted Mar 18, 2013
Location: Great neighborhood if you like classy restaurants, bookstores and pleasant cafes. Near enough to central city to walk, but you might want to cab back
In the middle of a busy neighborhood, an oasis of tranquillity ... Villa Ganz is a small hotel, with a helpful, welcoming front-desk staff available 24 hours to meet your every need. Breakfast on the terrace or in the garden was a delightful start to every day. Our room was comfortable and graciously appointed; we found it immaculately clean and restful every afternoon on our return to the hotel after a day's sightseeing. The hotel is not very soundproof, but the other guests were reasonably quiet, and night-time sleep was never a problem.

Not a sterile hotel experiencePosted Feb 26, 2013
Pros: Eating breakfast in the beautiful garden terrace.
Cons: Street noise can be an issue
Location: The location is excellent - there must be 30 restaurants within a few blocks' walk.
The reviews I read about this hotel were all true. It's a superb experience, really charming, a traditional Mexican experience, and exceptionally attentive staff. With most hotels, once you close the door to your room, you could be anywhere in the world. Not at the Villa Ganz! The antique furnishings and decorative touches remind you that you are in Old Mexico, but without the lack of comforts of an older hotel. This is now my new first choice hotel in Guadalajara.

Paradice in middle of townPosted Feb 14, 2013 on Hotels.com
Our stay was a brief stay to celebrate an important anniversary. The hotel was in the area of many fine restaurants and boutique shopping areas. The hotel is a little gem nestled off a busy street that could not be heard from the room. The staff was great, the room terrific and the breakfast very pleasant. The small gardens that most rooms face is very attractive. In the early evening they have a nice sitting area with fireplace and wine and snacks. We will stay there again in the future.

Romantically marvelous from beginning...to end.Posted Dec 27, 2012
Pros: Service, decor and garden. Hard to choose!
Cons: Hmmmm...drawing a blank.
Location: City life locale. But, when you enter Villa Ganz...it's like you're in a land of enchantment. Outside factors disappear until you leave again.
I suggested this review would apply to couples only because we, as a couple, enjoyed our visit so very much. We stayed 3 nights, after having booked only 2 to begin with. We were sold after the 1st night & breakfast in the morning on the patio. I couldn't bear the thought of leaving in such a short time. With this in mind...we were moved on the 3rd night to a suite on the 2nd floor. It was lovely, but we did like the 1st floor a bit better because we could walk right out the door and into the on-so-amazing garden area. We love to garden, and I was almost brought to tears the 1st morning as we sat overlooking the garden at breakfast. Sspeaking of which...the service (e.g. Silvio and his staffers) was ana amazing crew...so much more than accommodating. Last morning there....my husband went for breakfast w/ one of the professors from GLH University and I ventured out to the breakfast-garden area alone to read. Being from Ia...I thought it was warm enough (70ish) for a dress and flip flops. Haha...the gardener didn't, and brought me coffee...lit me a fire in the fireplace & started the gaslight area warmer. Need I say more? Went to Ajijic from GLH and am having a nice time here as well. The new setting....not quite as quaint & romantic as Villa Ganz, but nice. My honey has a knack for picking places that simply melt my heart. Enjoy!
