Excellent hotel with character and friendly staff

Posted Jul 25, 2015
This is a beautiful hotel - feels like you're staying in a house, not a hotel. Beautiful old building with a lovely garden. The staff are friendly and outstanding. The hotel is located in a great part of town near lots of restaurants & bars, and close to downtown Guadalajara (walking distance). We loved this hotel & would definitely stay there again if we returned to Guadalajara.

Ai beautiful converted colonial house

Posted Jul 5, 2015
It is located in a lovely area, has a beautiful garden, the afternoon and evening staff are exceptional and go out of their way to make sure you are cared for...The manager is excellent. If you are looking to stay in authentic Mexico, I suggest this hotel. when I was ill, they made me home-made vegetable soup!

Nice Small Hotel in a nice neighborhood

Posted Apr 22, 2015
Pros: Very helpful and friendly staff. Owner lives on site, I think.
Location: Walking distance to restaurants, shops etc. We took a taxi to city center.
Nice neighborhood in GDL. Several good restaurants nearby. Staff was very helpful and accomodating. I think the hotel has 12 rooms -- maybe less. Quite, clean. Breakfast was included, and well prepared and presented. We would probably stay here again, if in GDL.

Beautiful hotel

Hotel Villa Ganz is a chic small Hotel closer to Guadalajara city center away from many of the business Hotels. It is an oasis with a beautiful and lush tropical garden, and superbly appointed and spacious rooms. The staff are extremely friendly and welcoming. Staying at the Villa Ganz will not disappoint in any way, it is a unique and luxurious experience. The rooms are very comfortable and the public spaces extremely inviting where you can enjoy complimentary evening drinks, breakfast and dinner.

Inconsiderate Supervisory Personnel

Posted Apr 5, 2015
Pros: For what it's worth: The facilities are beautiful.
Cons: Do not hold parties outside the door of your guest's rooms.
Location: There are several decent restaurants in the area.
The Director of the property assumed that holding a party and having music late into the night would not impact our stay. Our flight left very early on the morning after the night of her party. Obviously, we would have liked to have gone to sleep at 8:00 or 9:00 PM so that we could be somewhat rested when forced to wake up at 4:45 AM. This was not possible due to the noise. Indeed though she had said that the music would stop at 11:00 PM, it continued until 11:40 PM and there was noise in the garden right outside my room until approximately 12:30 AM. Having booked two rooms in her hotel, we felt as though she had turned around and told us that we were not important – her party was more important. Perhaps her Valentine’s Day party was making her more money? We both felt as though we had been taken advantage of and violated by this lack of consideration on her part. What kind of hotel deliberately sets out to antagonize its guests by holding a noisy party?

Awesome stay at Villa Ganz

Posted Feb 20, 2015 on Hotels
The Hotel at the end of the day is a Villa, which for individuals who don't want to be just a room number guests works awesome! If you are looking for a hotel with all the amenities to keep you in your hotel area this isn't the place for you. Villa Ganz is a place for you to rest and spend time with someone special. It is located in a great neighborhood where you can walk around and see the city or jump in a cab and you are there in no time. There are a ton of restaurants and bars on the street that the Villa is on. The staff is attentive and always willing to help. I had a 8am flight and the staff had a cab ready for me and had breakfast ready for us by 5:30am, which goes to show how far they will go to accommodate your stay. I would not recommend this place for people with children. It fits comfortably couples. There is also a cat who lives in the space, if you are deathly allergic to cats take note. Which I am, but didn't have an issue, since he mostly stays downstairs and sleeps on the couches.

Pros: Excellent location. Very friendly staff.
Lovely small garden. Large rooms, if a little rustic. Somewhat understaffed, but everyone is extremely helpful.

Bien pero ruidoso

Posted Jan 12, 2015 on Hotels
