Cosy and very well maintained boutique hotel (bungalo style) with only seven rooms surrounding a small pool.
Breakfast (continental) served every morning on your patio if desired.
Great service all through our week long stay. Very quiet area close to downtown St François and all ameneties. Recommended for couples looking for peace and quiet.

This is a small hotel in two colonial style buildings about 10 minutes by car from the excellent restaurants of Saint François and 20 minutes from the town of Saint Anne. It has 10 rooms, a breakfast area, and a good infinity pool overlooking the Carribean. The hotel is meticulously clean. The couple who run it, Phillippe and Annie are warmth and hospitality itself full of useful tips and directions to help you get the best out of a stay.
The breakfasts of fresh tropical fruits, breads and croissant and coffee are a great start to the day. Otherwise, dining out is a must as the hotel does not have a restaurant and due to its peaceful location a hire car is also an essential. There are however many excellent restaurants and I was able to rely on the recommendations of Phillippe and Annie.
I think that some knowledge of French is helpful in Guadeloupe as this is the first language, the second being creole, and English a distant third.

Hotel in a tranquil setting, very friendly and helpful staff, the food was excellent, spacious grounds, swimming pool and sauna. Situated close to several very clean and quiet beaches. Cicadas quite noisy during the night but you soon get used to them. Very reasonably priced considering the facilities. You will need precise directions as the hotel is not easy to find. Within 1/2 hour drive of the airport.

We had a fabulous private bungalow with a huge deck overlooking the sea. The hotel property was gorgeous with an infinity pool a lovely private beach. The bungalow had a little kitchen allowing us to make meals and eat on the deck watching moonlight and stars. Breakfasts were excellent. The restaurant setting was beautiful, but the food was average at dinner. We would definitely recommend this place for it's privacy, boutique-style accommodations, beautiful surroundings and friendly, helpful staff.

"Fantastic location and view minutes from the beach"
I went to this hotel with my girlfriend for a week of holidays in Guadeloupe and it was fantastic.
First and foremost, the staff is very friendly, caring and helpful. We were arriving very late at night and they made sure that everything was very well setup for us.
The location is great. There are quite a lot of beaches within 10 minutes drive, a couple are less than five minutes. Beware, all these beaches have some great waves. If you don't like that it may be something to think about. But the beaches feel very exclusive and are stunning.
The view from the hotel is absolutely gorgeous.
We had no mosquito issues in the room which was very nice. They didn't manage to sneak in.
The rooms are spacious and they all have a terrace with a kitchen. This is great in the evenings when you want to try your culinary skills with local ingredients.

The 'Bord de Mer" at Deshais (pronounced De-hey) is not a full-service hotel with daily housekeeping and mints on the pillow. Those are available on Guadeloupe, for a price. Bord-de-Mer provides a nice clean room with fresh linen on request. There is a TV that gets 10 channels (all French) and an A/C in the bedroom. Our suite consisted of the br, bath, family room and an "outdoor kitchen" on the covered patio. The hotel is pretty new, beautifully landscaped and well maintained. The small staff is very helpful, and like most other places on "Gwada", French-speaking. However, if you start with "Bon jour" they will try very hard to answer questions and meet your needs. The pool is very nice, lit at night with blue and green lights.
There was a temporary problem that travelers should be aware of: Behind the hotel Regional workers are installing a treatment plant, but understand that the island people have a low sense of urgency that is part of their charm. The partially completed work has left a pond of brackish grey water that flows directly into the sea and when the wind is not blowing, which is seldom, it can be smelled from some of the rooms. At night, every mosquito in Guadeloupe is present at this locale. Men came to work on this facility daily, with minimal gains. The odor and the mosquitoes seem concentrated in the center court between the two buildings, the rooms along the pool not so much.
Deshais is the best area in Gwada, Bord-de-Mer a nice hotel!

We found the hotel/apartment on Expedia and it ended up being exactly what we wanted. A loft for two teen boys and a bedroom for us (though it was two singles pushed together). A chesterfield could have doubled as a fifth bed with a sixth cot stowed underneath. The kitchen had a fridge that was a little bigger than a hotel fridge, a dishwasher, glass top stove, dishes, cutlery, glasses. There was a locally connected phone. Bathroom has a shower with towels. New linens were dropped off a week into our stay. A little short on cleaning supplies so we paid the 30E cleaning fee on leaving. Over all a very nice place to stay which suited our needs perfectly. We ate breakfast there each morning and snacked at night. I think we saved a bit by staying there at a VERY expensive time of year and expensive part of the world. Remember: Guadeloupe is part of France!

Reserved a lowest cost, Gardenview room. We got a huge suite overlooking the beach with two full baths. Gorgeous, enormous pool with swim up open air bar. Open air lobby and dining room. Terrific location bordering the marina with lots of restaurants within easy walking distance. Breakfast is included.
After a minor traffic mishap, the wonderful hotel desk people handled everything, including filling out the legal forms and negotiating with the other party.
One of the very best places to stay in the Caribbean.
