Nice place for the pricePosted Apr 15, 2014
Room was clean and comfortable. Staff very friendly and helpful. Outdoor seating looking at the ocean and fire pit available for peace and quiet. If you're looking for a five star hotel that waits on you hand and foot, this is not for you! This motel is comfortable, quaint and reasonably priced. I stay here every time I visit and have never had a bad experience. The motel has been upgraded in the past few years and the staff is very accommodating.

good view for the price but no beach accessPosted Mar 31, 2014
Pros: They have a firepit and tables and benches outside which was nice. bathroom is good size.
Cons: the breakfast and the beds for sure!
Location: Nice beach nearby
Me and my boyfriend stayed for 1 night we had never been there before. you can see a good view of the ocean but you have to drive to get to the beach. We were very disappointed with the breakfast they provided. I think the eggs were supposed to be scrambled but were super runny. It was pretty gross I dont know why I even tried them. And the scones were old and hard. We ended up going to a place called Trinks down the road for breakfast which was delicious! We would go back there lots of food for the price! The bed was super squeaky and you can hear everything around you. Good rate compared to other nearby hotels but you get what you pay for I guess.

Terrific location and super friendly staff.Posted Mar 24, 2014
Pros: expedia offer
Location: We had BBQ at a restaurant only 1/2 block away, the food was ok. Going for a hike and doing yoga at the beach was the way to go!
This was such a nice little hotel, perfectly located right on the beach. I will definitely go back sometime. Thank you!

Great hotel, can not wait to stay againPosted Mar 23, 2014
Pros: It was clean, quite, next to the ocean. We were able to see wield life right from are own window.
Cons: Your great just as you are.
Location: We were looking for a place where I could rest after my last chemo treatment so I could start it Over again. It was great
We stayed three nights. Wish we could have stayed for more. We had a great room, could hear the surf at night, great for sleeping. Had breakfast every morning and the food was great and the managers did a great job taking care ti each and everyone of us. We didn't need for anything.

In Need of AttentionPosted Mar 22, 2014
Pros: Very friendly staff and nice breakfast.
This motel is definitely in need of updating and attention. This is an older motel and looks OK from the outside. The office was decorated nicely and clean. On the plus side, the staff was very pleasant. However, the rooms definitely leave something to be desired. There were patches in the walls in the room that were not painted. Someone's old shoes were left in the closet. In the bathroom, the fan didn't work, tiles were missing from the walls and the switch plates were dirty. The whole place looked as though it was in need of a thorough scrubbing and painting.

What a wonderful surprise!Posted Feb 24, 2014
Pros: Everything. They are truly pet friendly and go out of their way to let you know that. The attitude of the staff was so positive. Well maintained
Cons: Bloody Mary's at breakfast
Location: Good food, awesome beach, Fort Ross, Point Arena (we caught a Saturday night concert in Point Arena...whoa, back to the 60's)
We were on a low budget, high adventure road trip through the backroads of Napa, Sonoma and Mendicino County. We had booked a room for the night in Cloverdale . Upon our arrival we found that it was unacceptable. A quick call to Expedia and the problem was resolved and we decided to drive straight to the coast. Expedia hooked us up with a pet friendly motel in the town of Gullalla....the SURF INN MOTEL. The drive over the mountains on Scaggs/Stewert Point Road was truly a extreme backroad tour!!! Really cool. Upon arrival at the Surf Inn, we were shocked to find the staff (Heather at the Desk) so friendly, classy and just a really nice person. The room was big, clean and obviously had been remodeled/updated in the past year or two. A stunning view of the ocean and river, A nature walk along the Bluff right out our door, a wonderful sitting area with a fire pit and ....they cook a REAL buffet type breakfast for free in the morning (not a "contenental breakfast") It was such a great atmosphere and such a pleasent place that we decided to stay another night. Thanks Heather!!!!

Beautiful location-Posted Dec 12, 2013 on Hotels.com
This quaint little hotel is managed by Heather, who is delightful. Breakfast was extensive and delicious. The rooms were small and in need of repair, but Heather said major repairs are forthcoming in early 2014. This is no chain hotel, and worth taking a risk for the view, the breakfast and the great service. By the time you go, maybe updates will be ompleted in the rooms. BTW, bed was cozy with thick comforter and good mattress
