“Good Value”
I liked the hotel - the staff were friendly, it is in a good location and the outdoor grounds and lobby area were nice. The hotel could use some touch-ups - the inside of the pool should be repainted and the room that I was in had a moldy smell that could be corrected by having the ventilation system cleaned. Overall good value for the price - I would go there again but it wouldn't be my first choice if I had a larger budget.
“Hotel Nikko Guam”
Good accommodations and facilities although there's no gym that could've made it more ideal. Good selection of restaurants to eat at and a convenience store is located on-site. Hotel is mainly catering to Japanese, even the maps they provide are in Japanese only. Location is alright, away from the hustle and bustle yet close enough to the center. There are free shuttle services to main destinations although when in Guam, I would recommend you get a rental car as parking is fairly easy and traffic is not that bad. Hotel was crowded though hence we weren't allowed early check-in nor early check-out, which is not the case for other hotels in Guam.
“Guam's Best Hotel”
Good!!
“Great Hotel!!”
Very spacious. Just off of the strip allowing you to avoid all of the tourists. Wonderful views of Tumon bay. Located close to Two Lover's Point. The hoel provides restaurants and shows, but I didn't really go to any as I explored the island and went to the hole in the wall restaurants. Try Kinney's, King's, Shirley's, Chamorro Village on Wednesday, Linda's. I gained Scuba certification there and dove Gun Beach right next to the hotel as well. Every room is oceanfront view. I really enjoyed my stay in Guam. My only regret is I didn't stay longer. :-(
“Nikko maybe only for the Japanese travelers”
With little info. in English, I had to call lobby to ask & learn that the Nikko stopped room service. Hair remained in the bathtub. I had to clean the tub before take shower. Sink water drains really slow couldn't use it. TV remote didn't work, I called for check. It worked at first , problems came back and I had to turn on/off TV manually. To make it even worse, I saw a small roach as I open the drawer below TV. I tried to kill it but it was too fast. I could't sleep at all that night. One day, I needed to use internet. One of the PC was having problem and I told the front desk. She said, " All three?" I replied, "What do you mean. I only see two PCs." She said, "There are three PCs. and if any one is broken use OK ones. If they're in use, wait. It is first-come, first-served.". The other front person corrected, there are only two PCs. She knew that the one of PC is having problem, but there nothing she can do, so wait and use the one that is ok. Even if it is not true, what I was expected to hear was something like, "We are aware of the problem, the technician is on the way and it will be taken care of in soon. In the mean time, please wait and use the one that is available.Sorry for the trouble" I travel alot. I make at least 5-6 times overseas trips a yr. I cover muti-cities within the States per trip. I only stay at 4+ stars hotels. This was the far most unforgettable in unpleasant way of hotel experience in recent several years.
“Would stay there again.”
Enjoyed my stay in Guam even though it was primarily for business.
“Ocean view to die for”
If you want peace, quiet and an awesome ocean view, this is the place to stay. Every room in this hotel has an ocean view. However, be aware that there is NO room service. We checked in after the dinner hour and were too tired to go out to eat. Not only is there no room service, but the food sold at the hotel lobby's snack bar was unacceptable. The bananas were rotten and the tuna sandwiches were room temperature. Their refrigerated case was not cold enough. Fortunately, the protein bars & bottled water in our luggage saved us from going to bed hungry.
“DISGUSTING”
DISGUSTING, AWFUL, WOULD NEVER RECCOMEND THIS ESTABLISHMENT
“Hard to see why everyone thinks it's the best hotel on the island”
When on Guam I usually stay at the Hyatt, just because Hyatt is such a great hotel chain. But this time the Hyatt was fully booked so I stayed at the Nikko, who gave me a pretty good deal (pay two nights get one free) and in any event, at least two taxi drivers had told me Nikko was the best hotel on the island. I found the hotel to be very 2nd-rate. First of all, no room service, or at least no room service menu. So when you pick up the phone, you get someone from Guest Relations who just doesn't understand English well enough to get the fact that you're looking for a bottle of chardonnay, and that this is in fact a bottle of white wine. Second, no same day laundry service. I needed laundry done the day before checking out, but was told when I called them at 8 am in the morning, that they could only get my laundry back the next day. Obviously they have no on-site laundry facilities, so they can't do same day service. Third, there's no gym at the hotel, which I found particularly annoying. The Hyatt has a great gym, but not the Nikko. They don't even have a pool that you can do laps in, just one that you can splash around in with the kids. Finally, there's no ATM in the hotel. The other 5 star hotels on Guam provide this, but not Nikko. You actually have to hoof it to the Westin about 10 mins away to withdraw cash. The Japanese do some things very well, like manufacturing and those silly manga comics, but they don't have much idea about providing world class service!
“Awesome view!”
My hotel view was the best that I have ever seen. You're far enough away from the daily traffic but close enough to enjoy the night life.
