The property is currently undergoing renovation. There’s noise during the day while the crew is working, so when you’re trying to take a nap, you are woken by the noise. But hey, at least they’re not working in the middle of the night 🙂

Good stopover between flights
We stayed at the Oceanview one night in transit to Saipan. The restaurant is good, the rooms are comfortable though the property is old and being updated. WiFi in the lobby worked well, and on our second stay, the WiFi in the room worked well too. Location was close to Tumon (Guam version of Waikiki) though down a big hill (and back up to return). Airport shuttle is hourly on the hour arranged in advance, $10 per person. It was the most reasonably priced stopover hotel I could find in Guam. On our second trip, early check-in was greatly appreciated. They also can store bags if early check-in is not possible.

The hotel was an easy walking distance to a beautiful white-sand beach, the main shopping areas and a lot of restaurants and cafes. The room was clean,, the staff was courteous. We had a few issues (no hot water, dripping toilet) but they were fixed within 1 hour of reporting them.

A Quite Good Hotel
The hotel could be really nice with just a little bit of renovation (which I think it’s happening right now from the noise we heard). Nice staff, large rooms, clean and new sheets and towels.

I arranged a pickup from the airport in advance and recovered confirmation by email from the hotel. On arrive late at night no-one was there. The helpful guy at the airport info desk called the hotel and they just said, oh we don't have a driver so just take a cab. Everywhere in the Tumon Bay area is old, tired and bad value for money. The room at Oceanview was fine, but the staff were so disorganised.

We were there 11am.We were supposed to check in at 3 pm..But a lot guests checked out before 12 noon....99% of the time ,i was able to get a room even my supposed check in at 3 pm on the account of guests have check out before 12 noon..They wanted to charge me for the whole day if check in at 12 noon

The room and hotel were generally large and clean. The location was great, since it was within a 10-minute walk of the main tourist area with tons of restaurants and the beach. It’s far enough away to be very quiet at night from the hustle and bustle of the nightlife. However… There were multiple issues with the room and some of the staff. First, the we could not get access the internet in our room. Repeated calls to the front desk resulted in a maintenance person showing at 9 PM on our second night. All he did was check to see if he could get on the Net using his phone, which he could not. Then, there was the wall safe, which locked up after the second time I used it. The maintenance workers, who were the most professional of all of Oceanview’s employees, came at 9:30 PM (the same time the employee working on the Wi-Fi gentleman was there) and broke open the safe with a crowbar. I’ll say two things apart from our neighbors who were angry about the noise: 1) those safes are EXTREMELY strong, and 2) it was a lot of fun to watch those guys destroy one. Most egregious of all was the front desk employee who was too busy looking at her phone to answer my question. She stopped in midsentence to check her phone and then stopped talking altogether as she began typing on it. I was forced to ask her a question again, to which she replied “yeah” without looking up from her phone.

Front desk woman was not helpful. Did her job and was not a people person. Property looks un sanitized on the outside looks dirty and abandoned. Need alot of cleaning. Door and stairs on the second building is very dirty. Rooms are clean am thankful. Would recommend if the exterior of the building is 100 percent cleaner and safer.

We were never told of a $25 charge for the hotel shuttle to take us to the airport. I asked the front desk to call someone to fix the wifi because we could not get on...no one showed up! The bed was not comfortable and the bathroom had hair on the floor from the previous occupants.

I’ve stayed here before but never in the rooms I got today. I payed $200 for the night to not even stay in an updated room. It was roomy but the bathroom was on horrible condition. I didn’t even want to take a shower or walk around without shoes. Wish the pictures would have portrayed this. And I payed for an upgrade that was suppose to have upgraded fast speed WiFi but it was the same WiFi I have used before. If I would have known I would have saved my money :(

One really good feature--you can get a $ 10.00 shuttle ride (price I believe applies to each way) to and from GUM (A.B. Antonio Won Pat Intl Airport). This is super since most of the taxi drivers will find a way to get $ 20-25 out of you for a one-way from the airport to any of the popular hotels on Pale San Vitores Road. Room and shower adequate but nothing special. Room safe at lowest level near the floor so you can't actually read the operating instructions, much less use it conveniently. Restaurant not open at 7:30am as posted on its door, but finally got with the program when the front desk called them and got them going. Other than that, beautiful view of the ocean and the fantastic Westin Hotel building down the hill. Wonderful feeling standing in the swimming pool area before dawn. Very quiet and peaceful. Not a bad place overall.

The staff was great very helpful and friendly and the room was comfortable how ever the wifi was weak and only contained decafe coffe and little sugar and the gym is in another hotel close by but a headache to reach and a smaller pool ( better size for little kids 3-4 feet deep ) at the sharing hotel was filthy and neglected. The pool at the hotel was decent size but seemed to also lack attention. The local convenient store smelled like smoke and was empty ( however i believe it was in the process of relocating ) checking in and out was quick easy and painless. Just wish it was more well maintained. Also parking is horrible

Unique: 1. Customer service EXCELLENT by the front desk and the shuttle service guys. GREAT JOB!!! 2. Gave $10 discount for the airport pick up (thanks) 3. Free shuttle to selected shopping areas (GPO, Micronesia Mall and Kmart) Don't like: 1. Rooms not cleaned daily (only linen change) rest room still has some hair strands when I returned back. 2. Condiments and toiletries not replenished; only provided on first day. 2. Rooms are not sound proof (was so noisy for the first two nights; unable to sleep. 3. First day = problem with the aircon; was told maintenance will come back but never came back until I called the next evening (upon return from outside) 4. Balcony fence not secured, some area were loose (I have a 3 yr old kid and this is a safety issue); other room was partying and several guys were leaning on the fence. 5. Room lighting were all soft type thus making it dim. I would prefer white/day light for the ceiling and hallway while lamp shades can remain with the soft light for relaxation but it can't all be dim light. 6. Lastly, since the location if not within the main road, and road wasn't showing in google, I did not see that the road is steep and was hard to walk uphill. Sooooo exhausting. Downwards no effort but with a slight mistake you will roll down all the way to the main road with a lot of cars...still dangerous. Probably why the road was not shown. Should I have known, I wouldn't check in.

Overall, we were very satisfied: clean, spacious rooms, regular room services; friendly workers, convenient eatery, ice cubes dispenser, swimming pool, the view over Tumon. If there was a small refrigerator in the room than a cooler, our rating would have been 110% satisfied as we were transiting with some frozen food that needed to be kept frozen, which we managed with bags of ice cubes in our personal cooler.
