“A low cost alternative”

Stayed here because other places were booked on New Years or expensive. I've travelled a lot to Guam the last two years. A reasonable alternative to the mainstays. Moderately price, but definitely caters to the Japanese crowd. OK, but here are better alternatives if you look around.

“Don't waste your time here!”

My wife and I stayed four nights, and we were very disappointed in the lack of quality of service from this hotel. Empty bottles, paper, and a large garbage can sat in or near the lobby uncontested for more than a day. Complimentary bottles of water are offered only one time. A 12 cup coffee maker is provided but only two small packets of INSTANT coffee are displayed. No additional bottled water, no water boiler, and no condiments; so even if you wanted to brew coffee, you'd have to purchase coffee, filters, and condiments from outside. No Coffee shop. The Housekeeping was pathetic, to say the least. They provide liquid shower gel, but failed to refilled it. Wash towels were not provided... we had to purchase them from the mall. The room attendant actually forget to take the Master Room Key. The fitness center was mediocre and neglected, consisting of outdated (or used) Nautilus machines, a low quality Elliptical glider, a low quality Treadmill, no towels, no water, no television (there was a mount), and no music. The breakfast buffet is headlined by an insultingly overpriced cost. Such a price is not indicative of a value in any establishment (which probably explains the mostly empty dining room). Downgrade the star rating!

“Orchid hotel stay Silver-week 2011”

I cannot recommend this hotel, the airconditioning was out twice during my stay with the longest outage being greater than twenty four hours. The temperature these days was around 40C (104F). The hotel management did nothing at all to disseminate any information or even an ETA to a fix. After the fact they left a poorly worded letter under my door that seemed to indicate that the first outage was a planned outage for an upgrade. If this is true they could not have picked a worse time to do it as this was peak holiday season in Japan. After the second outage the manager came by gave me coupons for breakfast at their cafe (Brooklyn Cafe), I tried breakfast there, the food was cold except the food that was suposed to be cold and it was warm, I threw the remainder of the coupons in the trash. It is a shame the state of repair that they have let the hotel get to, I can see that at one point the hotel must have been nice, but between shoddy maintenance and lack of supervision of the cleaning staff the hotel is now just a shadow of its former self. Look elsewhere for a place to stay, the Orchid is not worth the aggravation.

“Not Impressed”

Service is very very bad when compare the price that we have to pay. Front does not known that much travel information. Bad smell is all around the hotel and the the room itself. The room is not in the good condition as in the picture. Room cleaning makes up only the bed but they never clean the bath room. Bath towel is very dirty. Fitness/Pool is like the one found in the haunted hotel...very scary to be there alone. It may be good for business trip BUT NOT FOR VACATION!! Please decrease the star rates!!!
