“Great location and fabulous rooms! Loved it.”

Amazing!!! Went to Costa Rica for a week traveling around and this was a great last day. We loved the welcome drinks, the room and bathroom ceilings, the pool and wetbar. Great happy hour too. The beaches were fabulous.

“You should stay here”

We got married here in February 2009. The staff was great and went out of their way for us, even giving us the King Sun Suite a day earlier than we had planned for no extra charge. NICE! This is a very small, peaceful hotel and we never felt lost in the crowd or rushed, like at a larger resort. The grounds and pool are absolutely beautiful and the hotel is right on the beach. The restaurant menu has a little of everything and they do it all really well. We had breakfast on our private porch each morning and watched the iguanas frolic in the trees. My only complaint is that the room could have been a little cleaner. (I guess I have really high standards when it comes to cleanliness.) Other than that, it was a great stay.

“Beautiful, wonderful and amazing...”

Hotel and staff were great. We were given welcome drinks as we arrived. Our room was all ready for us. Pool was great and the beach and ocean right out front was perfect. The hotel staff went out of their way to help. The food was great, but your will pay american prices. The guacamole was yummy! We were there for a wedding and it was the perfect setting! We would definintly love to go back. Very relaxing and small botique resort, only 30 rooms.

Had a wonderful time. The room was very nice and the staff was great. This is a small botique hotel, not a resort, but great service. Their beach is just fair but there are many other great beaches close by. The food and drinks were great.

“Classy hotel”

We really enjoyed our 12 days at Bahia del Sol. The hotel and botanical gardens are beautiful; the breakfasts (and other meals) are delicious; the staff is very friendly and provides excellent service. We liked the location because we went to relax and all we needed was within walking distance. In general, it is a little off the beaten path - which provided a local flavor that we liked.

“A Most Excellent Green Season Visit”

A GREAT beach hotel. The staff was on top of their game. A special shout out to Francisco who helped us connect with some business contacts. Bahia del Sol is located near some of the best beaches in Costa Rica.

The hotel staff is very friendly and accomodating. Our family of 3 went just before their peak summer season so service was excellent. My only regret is that the beach sand was not like Hawaii's, but it is much softer though.

“Good value hotel, Great beach”

Overall good value for hotel, the beach was nice and semi remote. Safe for swimming. Staff did a great job at accomodating our requests and were very friendly. The standard rooms are a bit darker and older than picuture displayed on expedia. I recommend opting for the newer studios. Although the dirt road to hotel was bumpy it wasn't as bad as others in Costa Rica and is driveable with a car.

“Secluded hotel, beautiful sunsets”

Overall a fun and relaxing experience, right on the ocean. Bahia is NOT a mega-resort - only ~20 rooms, personal service. Pluses: nice beach, pool, swim up bar Restaurant had a fine variety of food at reasonable prices sunny and beautiful (low 90s) every day small hotel, attentive staff beautiful jungle-like setting (iguanas, birds) close to Liberia airport (~1 hr with 4WD) walk to groceries, a few other restaurants including Playa Flamingo area Kayaks on site, marina nearby Minuses: NOT a white sand beach, or crystal clear waters, if that's your thing 3.5+ hrs from Arenal, Monteverde - too far for day trips the local roads are awful (not the hotel's fault, but a consideration) difficult to coordinate snorkeling trips etc. for only 2 people (easier with 4+) Recommendation: If you have a week in Costa Rica, and want a relaxing beach experience for 3-4 days, away from the resort complexes, rent a 4WD and come here!
