“Tamarindo, Costa Rica Best Western”
Of the most memorable things about our trip was our stay at the Tamarindo Best Western, the staff were so friendly and accomodating, the rooms and the surrounding areas were very well kept and clean. Breakfast was a choice of typical or continental and they were both very great choices. Our stay was like a home away from home. Thank you all for a great visit to your beautiful country.
“good value”
No complaints for the price. Just be aware it is not close to the beach so you will need a rental car or about $10 per taxi each way. There are cheap public buses as well.
“Extremely satisfied, definitely recommend as base of operation for exploring the area”
Hotel was affordable and clean. Staff was very pleasant and helpful. Only good things to say.
“Great, quiet hotel”
We loved this hotel! The staff was absolutely GREAT and the property was very beautiful! The rooms were nice and the pool was spectacular. If you're looking for something amidst the throngs of tourists, this is not your hotel. If you're looking for a "grown up" hotel that is off the beaten path, quiet and a peaceful place to land after a long day of sightseeing or hanging at the beach - this is your hotel. If you don't have a rental car or some mode of transportation, you will have some challenges in getting around. The hotel offers a shuttle, but it only runs certain times each day. There are two restaurants on site (one for breakfast only). I would return to this hotel without hesitation! Tips if you stay: 1) if you are addicted to time, there are no clocks in the rooms 2) if you need a super powerful blow dryer, bring your own 3) there was no refrigerator in the room and Coleman type coolers are very pricey so consider bringing one? 4) rooms have a safe 5) daily breakfast included
“Away from Everything”
The hotel was nice, but the location was terrible.
“Homey and really nice place to stay”
This hotel is very homey, off of the main road (so it's easy to find) in a central location to get to the sorrounding beaches. The place is on the quieter side, not like Tamarindo, but the latter is only about 10 mins drive. The rooms are quite spacey and clean. Overall we had a great exeprience. In general Best Western hotels never dissapoint us.
“Would go back”
This hotel was what I expected; service was great, breakfast was very good and the pool was nice. There is nothing within walking distance except the one restaurant/bar next door. To get to the beach you have to take a cab which costs $10-15 and 10 minutes. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful with activity planning but next time I think I will stay closer to the beach to save money and time.
“WILL VISIT AGAIN”
YOU WILL NEED A CAR, THE POOL IS VERY NICE. THE GROUNDS ARE BEAUTIFUL AND WELL KEPT. THE STAFF LIVE ON PROPERTY, SO YOU CAN ALMOST ALWAYS REACH THEM. THE FRONT DESK CLOSES AT 11:00 PM. NOW AND QUAINT. A NICE FAMILY HOTEL. PLENTY OF BEACHES TO VISIST IN THE AREA, AND LOTS OF VERY NICE RESTAURANTS.
“Amazing Hotel Between Tamarindo & Playa Flamingo!”
I would highly recommend this hotel. It's located about 8km from Tamrindo Beach, but it's also just ~8km from Playa Flamingo, so it's a perfect "in-between" location. Flamingo is way less crowded and has beautiful waves as well. The pool here is just stunning, and all of the grounds are extremely well kept. The rooms are plenty big, with king size beds, fans, AC units, flat-panel TVs, sizable showers and plenty of storage. The free breakfast is AMAZING. Fresh fruit, orange juice, coffee, eggs, toast, etc. are provided every morning with a smile in the open-air eating area. The service is fantastic and everyone here is just incredibly kind. Most everyone that worked here spoke enough English to give advice and help you with whatever you need, and everyone was more than happy to provide assistance. Costa Ricans are so nice! We'd highly recommend renting a car when staying in this area, but you don't have to. Every tour we booked in downtown Tamarindo included hotel pickup/dropoff, and they had no problems picking us up here. All in all, we can't recommend this place highly enough. Beautiful grounds, helpful staff, great breakfast and a wonderful pool. Also, it's away from the nonstop hustle & bustle of downtown Tamarindo so it's perfectly peaceful when you return for the evening. No complaints whatsoever!
