“Its alright”

You can do a lot worse in Tamarindo due to the petty theft element but that happens everywhere. The room itself was large (probably to big for our needs), it said ocean view, we could just make it out stood on tip toes. Breakfast was pretty rubbish, unless a slice of white sweet bread and fruit gets you going? We love fruit but the rest is crap. The pool is tired and needs updating. The barstaff where very friendly and you didn't want for anything. The loaction is ok but the whole town is pretty small so you wont be too far from the beach.We have heard from others about the Friday night party that if your in need of a lady of the night then hit this bar! If you want to turn upto somewhere clean and just ok this is the place as long as you dont pay full price. There are better places eg. Hotel Gardenia not on trip advisor but fantastic value and perfect for a week or longer stay. So on a whole it's ok, the owners are sat on a gold mine if only it was done well.

“Not Impressed”

The bar staff was amazing, the amenities were not. The hotel lacked simple things that you expect a room to have (a clock for example), and there was no fitness center even though one was advertised.

Great location. Lovely grounds. Rooms rather tired. Friday nights terribly noisy.

“OK Stay”

Pretty good hotel, but the shower was awful. No water pressure but room was clean.

“Just OK”

The hotel room was really small, but in saying that we didn't spend much time in our room. I stayed with my boyfriend. The room wasn't very romantic and the bed was not uncomfortable. Very small and low to the ground. We didn't have really any bugs in our room but met another couple with small child that weren't as lucky. The location is OK as it's a short walk to the main beach. We had a car so it was no problem driving down and finding a spot each day. If I went back to Tamarindo I would probably find another moderately priced hotel a bit closer to the main strip to try instead .

“Nice but a bit pricey for quality”

All of the staff is very friendly and quick to respond to any of your needs. The continental breakfast is your typical continental breakfast and nothing more. Fruit, toast and cereal. It definitely got old after a week! I know people have warned about Friday nights at the Monkey Bar - beware - no matter where your room is you will be up until 2 am listening to the thump, thump of the incredibly loud music. Strangely, other than Friday nights, the bar is dead. Overall, a very nice place to stay but a bit overpriced for the location and condition of hotel.

“Pura Vida”

We had no issues with cleanliness of the room upon check-in, however each day housekeeping would forget to replace one towel, or there would be no face cloths, or no bath mat. The Front Desk Staff was outstanding and very accomodating! I would not recommend staying at the motel on a Friday night. They have a live band and about 200 people who come for a concert from 9 PM - 2 AM and it is impossible to sleep during this time.

“Look elsewhere.”

Here's what we liked: the location is great - right across the street from the beach and they do supply beach towels. Otherwise, everything else was mediocre at best. They have air conditioning in the rooms, but our AC was so loud we had to turn it off for most of the night so we could sleep. The internet was unreliable, and the breakfast was okay. The first night we arrived they were having water trouble, which meant no hot water or towels. This happens, but they didn't tell us about it until we asked for towels. They provided only one in the room for four of us. We traveled in CR for about 10 days, and this was the worst accommodation we had and it was the most costly. Our recommendation would be to look elsewhere. There are many options in Tamarindo.

“Buyers beware”

The hotel was very shabby looking and they certainly don't spend much time on the grounds. We had a very small room with uncomfortable beds. You could stand between the beds but not on the sides of the beds since the room was too small. Needless to say, we spent very little time in our room and instread enjoyed the surfing.
