“Great hotel for young couples and students”

I booked this hotel because it had the cheapest price during high season in January and I couldn't have been more pleased. It was my boyfriend and I's first time in Tamarindo and the Hotel was just a short walk from all the shops and tours and main street not too mention the beach access is located right in front of the hotel. The staff is so friendly and accomadating and helped us to book taxis to the airport and tours. The hotel is guarded at night so you feel extra safe in an alreAdy safe town. The pool and bar are the best part and we spent a whole day lounging there and at the swim up bar. I did mention the hotel is better for young adults and couples due to the fact that on the weekends the monkey bar is one of the most popular bar/clubs on the weekend. We had a blast with the live band and dj but for a family with young kid, the music blasting till 3am might not be as fun. Oh and the AC in every room is brAnd new and works better then my own AC at home ! Will definitely return!

“Awesome Honeymoon, Will be back!”

Excellent staff, went out of their way to make sure our trip was a success, best bar/restaurant in the area. We absolutely loved the staff, Fernando the bartender was awesome and made every night that much more enjoyable. Cant wait to go back! Within comfortable walking distance of everything you need. Very Clean!

“Great Stay in Tamarindo”

My fiancée and I stayed here for 9 days and were nothing but impressed! Location was great staff was awesome. I wish the rooms were a little more spacious but that isthe only complaint I have.

The staff at Vista Villas was incredible. Everyone was super friendly and had excellent suggestions and advice. I can't wait to go back and see them again.

“Awesome hotel in Tamarindo”

THe Best Western Vista Villas in Tamarindo is an awesome hotel. From check in to check out I had a great experience. Trevor the manager was very nice as well as the bartneder Fernando. They make you feel at home versus just another guest staying at the hotel. The food in the restaurant was amazing. I ate at other restaurants nearby but the food at the Best Western was out of this world. I had the ceviche and the shrimp Quessadillas and the mango margaritas are very good as well. On Friday night they have a big party at the pool and its alot of fun as well. If your looking for an affordable hotel that has a great location, friendly stafff, excellent food and nice grounds this is the place for you. In the lobby there is also a computer with free internet. You cant beat this hotel for all it offers. When i go back to tamarindo i will stay here.

“Loved it!!!”

I wish I had more time to stay here in Tamarindo, because this place was great. So normally people write these reviews about how clean the rooms were and how nice the staff was. These are all true about this hotel, but I really want to focus on how this place really makes you feel like you are on vacation. I was able simply relax and enjoy this great place over a tropical margarita. No worries, no troubles, just "PURA VIDA"!

“Great time in Cost Rica”

The Vista Villas were definitely not a 5 or even a four star hotel. I would give it three stars. It was simple and turned out to be a great place to spend four nights! The ocean view was great! The restaurant food and the bar were good. And the service was very good! This area is great if one is into the beach and surfing. I will be back!

“Comfortable Stay”

I didn't know Tamardindo so booked at the Best Western because of online reviews. Comfortable room with full kitchen. Kitchen option was nice although we really only used the refrigerator and the microwave. Prompt service with a few minor room problems. Neighbors were very noisy and since the hotel was mostly empty the noise issue might be worse at peak times. Breakfast was basic but adequate. Attached surf shop was staffed with great people.

“Like Being In Your Home Away From Home!”

I really felt cared for by the staff at Vista Villas. Fernando at the bar was a real kick. Always had a joke and kept us laughing the whole time. The room was slightly smaller than average, but then again, so was the price. They were perfect for single travelers or couples. Mine had a real comfy double bed and a real nice balcony from where I could watch the sunset and all the surfers out front. I checked out the suites and they were really large and nice. They were perfect for a couple with two kids, but I decided to spend the money I was saving at the swim-up bar suckin down their lip-smackin Tropical Fruit Margis. The gardens were really beautiful. The staff was real friendly and made us feel like a part of their family. The food from the hotel restaurant, Chef Marianne's kitchen, was absolutely mouth-watering! I had the steak'n mushroom sauce which I would put up against some of the best steaks I have ever had. We also tried their Pizza which was terrific. This place may not be the fanciest, but was definitely the funnest!!!! The room was impecably clean and quite comfortable. I had a large safe in my room and the place was real secure with 24/7 guards. Not a four or a five star option, but definitely a solid three stars with a fantastic location and view and a Real Value for your money! I highly recommend this place to travelers who are looking to have fun while not spending a fortune or sacrifycing safety or comfort. Can't Wait To Go Back it was PURA VIDA!!!

“A great place to stay”

We stayed at the Best Western Tamarindo Vista Villas from 4-10 Jan 2011. We had an ocean view room. Here are the things that we liked the most: (1) the room was clean and comfortable, (2) the view was spectacular, (3) the location was perfect, (4) the hotel was secure and we felt safe, (5) the staff was pleasant and helpful (the manager, Trevor was exceptional), (6) the hotel had an excellent restaurant, pool and lounge, (7) it was easy to arrange local trips and transportation, (8) the beach and surfing area was right across the street. While there wasn’t anything that created any negative impressions for us, there are a couple of items worth mentioning: (1) I would not recommend staying at the hotel on a Friday night if you aren’t ok with hearing a lot of noise from the weekly Friday night bash at the hotel Bar (the Monkey Bar). Apparently, the Monkey Bar is the place to be on Friday night, (2) high speed internet is provided, but it was pretty weak in our room. The signal was very strong near the lounge and I would guess the signal was weakest in our room because we were the farthest room from the router (this was not of any concern to us), (3) there was no cell phone signal in the hotel, but as we got a short distance from the hotel it worked fine. This was just a consequence of a large (and quite beautiful) hill directly behind the hotel. We enjoyed our time in Tamarindo, and would recommend the Tamarindo Vista Villas as a great place to stay. Nice place.
