Clean hotel close to the beach. Nice pool.

Posted Nov 11, 2014
Pros: Location.
Cons: Maybe update the rooms a bit.
Location: There is a grocery store near by and a pharmacy. The beach is very close as well.
My friend and I stayed here on our first night in Costa Rica. We went in late October so it wasn't busy season. The hotel was clean, the pool was nice and the drinks were good. The view from the pool is really nice too. The food is ok but it's decent for the price you pay per night. I would definitely stay again.

Basic room, helpful staff

Posted Nov 5, 2014
The room was basic, a bit old and smelly. The bathroom door crancked whenever it was open or closed. The place need to be renovated. We did not go into the swimming pool because it was not inviting. We expected more of a Best western hotel and was disappointed. The staff was nice and trying to help. Even suggested that we switch our room.

Good accommodations minus Friday lady's night

Posted Oct 7, 2014
Pros: The personnel's response regarding the loud music was appropriate and a relief. The receptionist rectified the situation by offering us free dinner.
Cons: Friday night lady's night - the hotel should eliminate this. The music is way too loud.
Location: We really liked Soda Buen Comer just down the street; and the beach, of course. The hotel had good facilities and offered to answer any questions.
We had a great time and enjoyed the pool and the hotel's proximity to the estuary.

Not what you see on advertisement/Expeida

Posted Sep 5, 2014
Pros: Positives....great access to the beach and to souvenir stores. Good continental breakfast and good food at their restaurant (Crazy Monkey)
Cons: The negatives that have been mentioned above.
Location: Good location and quick access to stores.
We purchased "partial view" of the ocean but instead we got a view of trees, street and traffic. The receptionist tried her best and gave us the ocean view room, but no kitchen and room was very small. Not the room that I had paid for on Expedia. Can not complain about the final view though...it was ocean view. The negatives are numerous. Room was dirty. Walls were stained, toilet dirty, towels were definitely old and grungy. Not even sure if they were cleaned to begin with. Curtains were old and stained and shower curtain also had nasty stains as well. In the end I really did not get the actual room that I paid for. Be careful when booking "partial view" because you may not get it. The maid left an envelope on the bed that welcomes you with her name on it but we didn't want to even pick it up because it had nasty stains on it and seems to have been used multiple times. Water was not flowing in bathroom sink or in shower in the evening...come to find out the city turns off the water and so we had to call the front desk and we were told the staff had to go turn on their own backup tank and that it would take 10 min to get water pressure. .

Perfect for a week long getaway.

Posted Aug 19, 2014
Pros: The proximity to the beach. Great service.
Cons: The continental breakfast.
Location: A safe and comfortable 5 minute walk to the center of town. You can book all your tours at the hotel. Great if you don't want to rent a car.
We booked our villa at the last minute and couldn't be happier with the service and the facilities. We took public transportation from San Jose to Tamarindo and the bus dropped us off right in front of the hotel. We also got picked up by the bus in front of the hotel on the way back to San Jose. The hotel is a comfy five minute walk from the center of town and just across the street from the beach. Great view of the ocean from the pool! Perfect for families or long stays because the kitchen is fully equipped. The continental breakfast was a little plain (the same options every day). However you do have the option to purchase breakfast from a menu if you're not in the mood for the light continental options.

Pros: Location, staff, and the size of the room
Cons: There was a problem with the sink continuous flow of water after being turned off but nothing serious
Location: Beach, restaurants, clubs, bars, and etc...
This hotel is in a great location. Very close to the beach and not far away from the strip of bars, clubs, and restaurant's. The hotel staff was great and if you go to this location ask for Stephanie who is a travel agent with the hotel. She provided me with a lot of information and I really appreciated it. I will be coming back to Costa Rica!! Pura Vida!!!

not what I expected from the photos

Posted Aug 5, 2014 on Hotels.com
my standard room was at least a third smaller than the one that shown on the photos. The pool was dirty. The shower was meek. the breakfast was lame and we had to keep asking for refills on breakfast items. Worst hotel experience in Costa Rica.

Friendly hotel close to beach

Posted Jul 9, 2014
Pros: The friendly staff was so helpful. I also like being on the main road but not down town. There was some quite being down the road.
Cons: A sign to locate the lobby upon arrival! We were confused and walked all the way up the drive when it was actually in a small building at entrance
Location: Very short walk (5 min) to the end of the road with shops, food, other hotels. Super close to the beach - surfing, paddle board. Close to everything
We stayed here hoping to have proximity to the beach and that is what we got. Just cross the street and you're on the beach. The staff was super friendly and helpful and most things you needed were provided. The view from the pool and bar was awesome and Friday night at Crazy Monkey was a great time!
