Property online description did not match what it was really like. No pool on site. It is connected to a little casino that has people walking near your rooms throughout the evening. It is on a main street with loud music until very late in the evening. Would not recommend if you want to get a good nights sleep.

We stayed at the property for 1 night. While I understand saving on electricity. We had reserved 5 rooms, the air conditioning was off on all of them, light unplugged. This is basic prep that could have be done to ready the room.

Had to book when flight was cancelled. All places were booked so had to book this place. Other than having an available room in a crisis situation I would NEVER stay here again. Dirty, noisy, unsafe, dark. Not a good place.

The front door was very hard to lock and unlock. It seems as if someone has been trying to pri into the room. The lights in the bathroom would flicker off when you turn on the shower. There was a broken toilet to were you had to wiggle the knob to make it flush. Very poor place to stay

This hotel was okay as the room was clean enough, it had A/C and it was centrally located. The downsides are that it is a 5 minute walk to the beach and there is no pool at the hotel. (our plumbing in our room worked but the toilet did back up once and it definitely needs some work) For our family, we wish we had stayed at a hotel right on the beach that also had a pool. We did use the Coco Bay club one day (free access if you are staying at the hotel). It was a 20 minute walk away but was worth it to use the pool and play tennis/pickleball.

At first we had to go across the street for breakfast, the last week it changes and was now on the property. The property kept very clean, it was convenient to get any thing you wanted around the area. It was a 5 minutes walk to the beach.

Staff services were good. The condition of the property was disappointing although cleanliness and comfortable beds was a plus. The location and age of the hotel is suboptimal. Pool is located a couple of miles away and requires a taxi ride to access.

Through the years we have come many times to this hotel, even back when it was called Coco Green. We loved the dining area around the pool. All that is now gone, there is only an oriental restaurant when before there was excellent restaurant. There are several problems with the room. In order to close the door it has to be slammed. The TV remote doesn't work. Bathroom very tiny. The hot and cold water knobs in the shower, would fall off as you try to turn them. You only get 1 towel per person. If you need a glass for some reason, forget it, there is none. if you call the front desk, you only get a recording. Oh, I forgot to say that we called using our cellphone, because the room had no telephone. The parking is horrible, it only fits about 3 cars, once you park you will need to slide down the gravel road, because it is soo steep that you can't walk down it. WHO PLANNED THIS!!!

Details state 2 pools and a poolside bar. There is no pool at this hotel. We stayed here as we thought it would be great for the kids to have a pool for 2 days at the end of our vacation. We overpaid as there was not one. Reception advised that there was a pool club we could drive 15 minutes to get to. No hot water for shower. Only 3 working plugs in the room including the ones needed for fridge and lamps. No overhead light so the lamps are needed. No spa facilities that I could see. No common area or coffee/tea available as stated. Also the 24 hour reception and security is not at all accurate. We had to leave the hotel at 4am on Jan 1st to head to the airport for our flight home. We told reception the day before that we would be leaving at that time. When we went down to leave the front gate was locked. We had no way out of the property. We were locked in. I started knocking on a few doors to find the staff but I was unsuccessful. There was someone passed out on the toilet in the women’s bathroom with pants down and lights out. This person was completely non-responsive but I did not have time to see if they were “ok”. My husband searched reception and found a bowl of about 50 keys as well as a pouch with room keys. He spent half hour trying to find the right key for the lock to get out and we was finally successful. We made it out on time but I’m sure glad this was not an emergency! Close to the beach and restaurants. So location is great. Breakfast was not bad.

Had the guest read the information on the pools and the beach club they would have known that the pool was less than 1 kilometer from the hotel. They say they overpaid to have a pool. Perhaps they should have chosen Four Seasons at a starting price of 3,000 per night. My friend runs the hotel and tells me they also have complaints. This was the first complaint we have ever had on the locked door since we have managed the hotel and we apologize for that happening.

This hotel was probably the worst i have ever stayed in. They allocated #217..when we went in the room smelled of sewage masked with some room freshener. The only lamp in the room had a bulb not working. The toilet was leaking and the toilet seat didnt fit on the. The washbasin just had a hole for the drain. We asked for a room change and they said they had to inspect the room for all these complaints! I cant imagine that a hotel would not know that their rooms were in this dismal state! We think they just tried to pawn off a really bad room to us! They moved us to another room which was moderatly better but here too there are barely any lights, there are 2 safes in the room neither of which work. The hot water didnt work and i had to complain twice before they actually fixed it. The front desknstaff was nice and she was apologetic but our first couple of days in CR were really colored by this awful experience

We apologize for the smell of the room. Obviously it was left by the last guest. We have deodorizers and air cleaning machines but there have been occasions when we use them and the odor returns which sounds like the case here. During the two holiday weeks there are people trying to get into the rooms even before the last guest can leave so occasionally things like this happen.

I checked the restaurant schedule and found there was a standard breakfast serve from 7AM to 9:30AM. What time die you try to attend? If there was no hot water did you report it so our maintenance man could repair it?There are many hotels around us at 500 to 3,000 a night and we are less than 100 with good reviews.

Amenities were not as advertised in the Expedia listing. No pool on site - it was a 20min walk away. Listing says "2 outdoor pools" - none. The club where guests can use the facilities has only 1 pool- swim up bar and restaurant were closed, no towels available there. Listing says "spa"?? Never saw anything resembling a spa. No "common area", never mind "coffee/tea in common area". No hot water - even after we complained it was never fixed. Towels smelled like moth balls. Lightbulbs burned out in the vanity; one of the outlets by the bed didn't work. The included breakast was some fruit and buns that had been microwaved. We went to leave for our early morning flight and found the gate locked and we could not get out - (what if there had been a fire?) Luckily a staff member woke up and came out. Noisy bars on the street. Their website says 4 stars - absolutely not a 4 star hotel.

Just Aweful. The pics are deceiving. The pool is at a beach club and you have to drive there. The property is old and in poor shape, however, the new manager is friendly and tries to help. The breakfast is in an adjoining Chinese restaurant. It smelled so bad that I walked elsewhere and bought my breakfast. The rooms are close to the street and very loud.

Yes our swim and racquet club is a little over one kilometer from the hotel. We do offer free transportation by golf cart to and from the club. We consider the hotel is in average shape for a beach hotel in our price range. We are also renovating room by room. Please read our restaurant ratings. Your opinion is by far in the minority and we serve the typical costa Rican breakfast which is enjoyed by 99% of the tourists. Our hotel is in the middle of town close to the beach in a tourist area. During week ends and holidays it can get noisy until about 11 PM. Not much we can do about that due to the location.

Terrible checkin experience. Front desk said they had no record of my reservation, despite having called the property a few days prior to confirm my booking and being reassured that my Expedia reservation was in order. After calling Expedia and getting my booking sorted out (one hour later), Expedia offered me a $50 coupon for my troubles. The property owner overheard the Expedia agent on my mobile phone speaker offering me the coupon and at the time of checkout charged me $50, stating I booked 2 rooms with 2 double beds but only reported 3 guests, as opposed to 4 during my stay. The property is decent, but administration is sketchy.
