The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel is charming and well taken care of. We would definitely return here to stay again. The restaurant had live music some nights, delicious food and drinks and service that was personable and kind. What a window into the beautiful Costa Rican culture. We highly recommend.

The staff are unbelievably lovely, the breakfast was delicious, and the room did the job! It was a clean as you can get while also surrounded by jungle. Super close to the beach, sodas, and a grocery store.

The staff were so incredibly kind and welcoming and helpful. The breakfast is delicious, especially the typical breakfast. The property is very cute and there is also cold water available at all times and birds, iguanas, and monkeys are visible from the property so it is very beautiful.

We loved our stay at this hotel. The staff was incredible and very kind. The breakfast provided is delicious 😋. The only negative comments are not the hotels fault. We found walking to the beach/ restaurants was tricky. There are many tripping hazards and no sidewalks for part of it. We were also surprised to see bags of garbage on the streets. They were sitting for days.

This property fulfilled my two most important criteria-very comfortable bed and good climate control and air conditioning. It is located on a busy strip of roadway, but walking distance to the beach, so if you don't need a fancy setting, the price is right for a solid place to stay, and the staff are wonderful and accomodating-did not try the food at the restaurant (only there one nght)

This hotel is a ten-minute walk to the beach. It has an attached restaurant and we heard live music while we were there! The rooms are spacious and clean. The front desk is super helpful and the breakfast was delicious!

I would have given a 5 star review provided each night costs not more than $60 —$70 max. Rooms badly needs upgrades. Otherwise excellent staffs, nice restaurant with very reasonable prices — no complaints.

Great Value Hotel
Great Hotel on Brasilito. It's a 5-10 minute walk to Brasilito Beach and 15-20 minutes to Playa Conchal which is only accessible by walking. Even though it's right on the main road our room was quiet (we do sleep with white noise though). Our , the restaurant and pool were all clean. The staff were all great, friendly and efficient. The included breakfast was great with 3 different options plus self serve cereals, toast, juice and really good coffee. They have Happy Hour from 2-6pm. A couple of the staff tried to help me get ahold of our Car Rental company and went over and above to help. Parking can be full but they have access to extra spots next door and a security guard on all night, (we never felt unsafe though). This is a great value hotel.

A lovely surprise, colorful, local, traditional, and inviting this property is something else than any other offers in Brasilito. The personal makes even a bigger and more pleasant surprise. Birds and iguanas seem to like the property too. The proximity to Playa Conchal adds to the overall value (15-20 minutes’ walk). It offers an amazing breakfast and the local restaurant has good food at an acceptable price. All in all, if you do not want to pay the big bucks and get it all, this is the place.

It is hard for me to not give a full 5 stars because the incredible staff and the food at the Papaya restaurant within the hotel were perfect. If I could rate my experience a 4.5 I would. Special shoutout to Donald at the restaurant who was just the best and took such great care of us! We had such a special time here. The included breakfast options are amazing and we also enjoyed a great dinner there during our stay. The red snapper dinner and the jerk chicken were both some of the best meals we had in Costa Rica! We also thought that the setup of the rooms and the pool area were great, definitely worth the money for the area. The location is ideal and we were able to drive to neighboring areas easily to visit other beaches (playa flamingo and tamarindo) and different restaurants throughout the day. Walking to playa Conchal took us about 15 minutes but if you have a car it’s easy to drive over and park by brasilito beach so you can cut the walk down by about 5 minutes. While pretty much everything was perfect, and we would love to stay here again, the two rooms our group was in were not totally perfect. The floor and the shower were a little dirty and we also had quite a few ants and mosquitos in our room throughout the stay. That being said, we would definitely recommend staying here overall if you’re looking for a comfortable stay with the most wonderful service, food, and location in this part of Guanacaste!

The staff at the Conchal Hotel ( Domey, Donald and Yandel) was friendly and accommodating, which added a personal touch to our stay. They were always willing to assist with any requests or questions, and their warmth was truly appreciated. The rooms themselves were clean and comfortable, providing a good night’s sleep. However, I did notice some minor maintenance issues that could be addressed, such as a loose shower head.These small details, while not deal-breakers, could enhance the overall experience.

This is a very small venue but clean and very friendly, a few blocks from the beach so you can park and walk. The most remarkable is the kitchen, we had the best fried fish in years, I would rate the place 5 stars just for it.

I like the hotel very much. The staff was excellent. We are trying to open a store in the area. Angela and Donald were very nice and very helpful. Whenever I'm in the area I will stay there. You probably said that it was not the room you booked because of the picture that appears on the internet, we currently have 6 superior rooms, all 6 are different colors but all have the same type of bed. You were in room no.17. If by any mistake we had given you a room of lesser category, we would have refunded the difference.We hope this explanation can clarify what happened.

Pros: Beautifully decorated common area and friendly staff. Great food in the restaurant. Cons: no sidewalk to walk to the beach, so you walk on the main road. Bathroom in the room is very small with a low water pressure so it takes a long time to shower. We still really enjoyed our stay for two nights. Would recommend

After checking the room decided to not stay and cancel. The mattress was the worst, the room was not as in the pictures.

HelloThank you for contacting us!We received a notification from Expedia / Hotels.com requesting a refund for bad conditions of the Hotel.If we have a bad conditions of the Hotel i think that probably we will have a lot of cancellations and refunds.This is not a valid information, you can check our reviews, we are a small hotel trying to work hard to receive all our guest and make feel if we can better than home. Next morning the security guard reported this issue to us and we checked the room inmediately and the room was perfect, we received a lot of guest staying in that room for a lot of nights and we ask before to check out if everything was ok because for us is very important that if we have to improve something we will do. Unfortunately, you came later and you found the property dark, not colorful as in the pictures (after 9 p.m. we respect the rest of our guests and that is why we turn off all hallway lights )Best regards

Friendly, relaxing boutique hotel
We really enjoyed our 9-night stay at this small, very friendly hotel near Playa Brasalito and Playa Conchal. Jennifer was amazing at helping us after we booked our stay. She answered many email questions promptly and arranged airport transportation. During our stay she was a great help in arranging tours and providing local information. When we arrived, Donny checked us in efficiently with a smile and then later was a wonderful server at the Papaya on-site restaurant. John made some great drinks as well. Donald was outstanding during the busy breakfast rush handling everything with the true Pura Vida spirit. All servers were very accommodating and friendly. The chefs made delicious meals with beautiful presentation. The rooms were basic with air conditioning and hot water and kept very clean by the housekeeping staff. The nearby bridge construction made walking into town or the beach slightly more difficult and dustier, but we were still able to take advantage of the nearby restaurants. The hotel pool was small but nice and relaxing after a day at the beach or on tour. We had resident iguanas especially big Charlie, birds and even Howler monkeys in the trees around the hotel. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay at this small hotel with a super staff that make you feel like family.

The Conchal is a roadside B and B with simple clean rooms and a lush courtyard pool surrounded by beautiful trees and plants with birds , poolside iguanas , and the occasional troop of howler monkeys which get very excited - or mad? - when a scooter passes by 😀 the fresh juices at the papaya restaurant are wonderful and the guacamole is heaven . the staff are very helpful and friendly . the only downside , which is not the hotels fault , is that there is currently a bridge being built 100 meters away which makes it impassable for a vehicle so a rather long detour to drive to the north end of brasilito beach which is the best part . it’s about 5 minutes to the middle beach walking , and another ten south to playa conchal which is a breathtaking beach and fantastic for snorkeling .

Very nice staff! The food is really good with beautiful presentation! The room has a small fridge and a safe which was really convenient. Pillows too flat. The room was not super clean. What was annoying: very loud traffic caused by motorcycles. Walking distance to beaches! Otherwise really nice place stay!!

The room was nice and good size. We had a smart tv which was nice to watch Netflix. The only downside was we were under the restaurant so people were up early working and we could hear it. It was an easy walk to the beach and playa Conchal which was beautiful.

The staff, especially Donald and Jennifer go the extra mile and are very helpful and engaging. Delicious full breakfast included and the fruit juice and refreshing water drinks made by Donald are so appreciated. The food later in the day from Papaya dining room is excellent, however expensive. Noise from the dining room during dinner (closed on Wed) is fine and settles mid evening but street noise from vehicles and air brakes is constant throughout the day and evening. The street the hotel is on is also the main route to Playa Flamingo, where there is lots of construction going on. This is something we didn’t read about in the guide books. Walking on the road down to the beach and over the bridge takes about 10 minutes, for safety sake walk on the left side and watch the traffic. They will usually slow down or stop while pedestrians walk over the bridge. The town of Brasilito is small and fairly authentic with Sodas and some coffee places. The beach is pleasant and the swimming good. We found it impossible to get a bus despite waiting where it was supposed to come for an hour and half in the sweltering sun. We finally agreed to go with a private car for hire driven by a Tico for 2,000 colones to Flamingo and the same to return. The Conchal Hotel is a beautiful, safe sanctuary….there’s a guard there all night. The greenery and decorations, iguanas and birds that live on the grounds are enchanting. Great air conditioning in the room and comfortable beds.
