Annual Stay

Posted Apr 19, 2014
We winter in Costa Rica and each year we spend our last evening at the Hilton across from the airport. This was our 4 th stay and our best. The hotel is well maintained and more staff members understand English than in the past. The selection on the menu still needs some changes but is certainly ample. The breakfast buffet is excellent although pricey at $17US. The rooms are modern, clean, and all have small fridges and microwaves. Regular shuttles to the airport are reliable. Allow yourself time to check out...it still is a lengthy process.

Fabulous for an airport transition hotel

Posted Apr 3, 2014
Pros: Airport proximity Cleanliness
Location: Great restaurant, Christina's and German Bakery across the street 8km toward the beach on the main road Only 45 minutes from the beach area
We had a 6:50 am flight out Great free shuttle to airport, only a 3 minute ride Nice facility with pool, workout room, restaurant

High-end gringo hotel

Posted Mar 26, 2014
Location: This is the only hotel near the airport, so if you need/want to stay within a shuttle bus drive, this is it. Five minutes -- if that -- to the gates.
We arrived after 10 days staying in various nice hotels throughout CR. The Hilton bummed us out b/c it's so.......American. Everything you might expect from a good hotel in the states -- clean, big, expensive decent-but-not-great food in the restaurant. Service was competent, safe, clean, air-conditioned in every respect. I can't complain about the quality of the place, but the whole vibe is completely America-somewhere-else. If that's what you want, be reassured. But it was painful to sit in the restaurant and hear a bunch of Texans talking and joking about how backward the country is -- within earshot of all the Tico waiters and staff. Place sits all by itself in an undeveloped expanse. If you need anything, you better have your own transportation.

Get you with high taxes and built in gratuity

Posted Mar 19, 2014
Pros: Location to Liberia Airport
Cons: Wait Staff could be friendlier given that their tips are "built in".
Pretty much everything was at a premium rate in terms of food and beverages. Hold you hostage to eat and drink there as there is nothing else around there but the airport.

Very nice hotel close to the airport.

We booked our early morning shuttle when we arrived the evening before we left. It was a quick ride there which was extremely convenient. Great room. Comfortable beds. A /C worked well. Nice cool dip in the pool with the kids. We will stay there again before an early morning flight.

great location for an early morning flight

Posted Mar 2, 2014
Pros: Everything
Location: Really nothing to do near by except visit Liberia but the whole point of this hotel is easy access to airport not beaches nightlife or attractions.
Stayed here a few times and the location to airport and the facility itself is great nice pool gym and restaurant. Shuttle to airport and the added bonus of being able to pay your exit fee before arriving at the airport is great.

Hotel was clean and quiet. Good food and excellent service and friendly staff. They even have me a half day rate so I could stay in my room at the hotel til my plane left at 7pm.
